Owning a small business means taking the good with bad… but the bad hits us a little different…
It is genuinely disheartening to come across a negative review about Kidtique, especially when the concern being shared was never brought to us first.
I work tirelessly behind the scenes to make this store something our community can feel good about shopping in. I’m constantly working on inventory, pricing, sales, discounts, customer experience, staffing, organization, quality control… all of it. And many of our customers have literally seen me, the owner, scrubbing floors, cleaning shoes, wiping down baby gear, organizing racks, moving inventory, taking pictures and doing whatever needs to be done to keep this store clean, presentable, and welcoming.
There really isn’t a task in Kidtique that I consider “beneath me.” If it needs to be done, I do it.
And when a customer does have a concern, I personally make sure it is addressed.
If someone notices a stain, damage, or an issue with an item while they’re shopping, we immediately work to correct it, whether that means discounting the item, removing it, or finding another solution. We care deeply about the quality of what we sell.
But I also want to say this with love: humans run Kidtique. ❤️
Thousands of items come through our doors. Human hands inspect them, price them, tag them, organize them, clean them, and put them on the floor. We work incredibly hard to catch everything, but nothing operated by human beings will ever be 100% perfect.
What I can promise is that we care.
We care when something gets missed.
We care when someone is disappointed.
We care about making it right.
I never expect anyone to ignore a legitimate issue or pretend they had a great experience if they didn’t. Feedback is important. But before assuming a business simply doesn’t care, please give us the opportunity to show you that we do.
A conversation gives us the chance to correct a mistake. A review written before we even know there was a problem doesn’t.
Kidtique is not a giant corporation. There is a real person behind this business who reads the reviews, works the long days, worries about whether customers are happy, scrubs the floors, cleans the merchandise, celebrates when you find something you love, and genuinely wants you to leave feeling good about spending your money here.
We won’t always be perfect.
But we will always care, and we will always try to make it right. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who gives small businesses grace, communicates with us, and allows us the opportunity to fix things when we fall short. It means more than you probably realize. 🫶🏼
