Big shorts are back, and yes, they still hit below the knee.
Every summer I revisit the same question, and every summer l land in the same place: the big short. Slightly dramatic, borderline-trouser territory - whatever it is, it works. What started as a way to hide skinnier legs turned into a full-blown style choice. They shift proportions, add attitude, and make even the simplest outfit feel like you actually tried. Bieber proved the point at Coachella in oversized LU’U DAN shorts and LOEWE boots. Short-shorts just don’t carry that same aura.
The real win is how versatile they are without demanding much effort. Linen shirt, sleeves casually pushed up, and suddenly you’re giving breezy, almost romantic. Or go full oversized with bigger footwear and lean into that ‘90s skate energy. Either way, it feels intentional. So, commit. Join the big short camp. Just be prepared for the kind of tan line that raises a few long questions.
