I began Quilts by Kristy in 2010 with the ultimate goal of being a stay-at-home parent while still providing an income for our family. What started as a small endeavor has grown into a wonderfully busy business though a lot of hard work and the recommendations of my loyal clients. Each day I am able to work on beautiful quilts and return them to clients who are always so happy to see the finished

product; I couldn't ask for a better job! Quilts by Kristy provides longarm quilting services on two Gammill Statler Stitchers. This means that patterns are digital, and therefore the quality of my quilting is very consistent. As a science teacher by trade, I am very meticulous, and that is reflected in my work. Conversely, I rarely do freehand work because I dislike the unpredictability of the stitching. Both of my machines can fit quilts with a width of 120" or less (there is no limit to the length). At this point, I am no longer creating any T-shirt quilts or doing custom quilting; these types of services require too much time away from my family. Always feel free to email, call, or text with questions you have regarding a quilt; we can work together to pick out the perfect pattern and thread to finish your special project.

Sandy’s Christmas quilt is full of festive charm, with cheerful trees, stars, mittens, mugs, and gifts. The bright holiday colors really stand out, giving each block its moment to shine. ✨

We quilted it with Midnight Sparkle in red thread, adding swirling movement and delicate starbursts that complement the Christmas theme beautifully. It’s a pattern that adds texture and just the right touch of holiday magic.

This quilt is ready to bring warmth and Christmas cheer for many seasons to come! 🎄

Jeanette’s baby quilt is full of playful aviation details, from the colorful airplanes to the bold pieced blocks that look ready for takeoff. The navy sashing frames each design and gives the brighter colors a crisp, finished look.

We quilted it with Oriental Cloud, which adds soft, swirling movement across the quilt and fits the sky theme nicely without distracting from the piecing. The airplane backing carries the theme through to the reverse side.

This will make such a fun and cozy gift for a little one. 💙

We are back from vacation, and my machines (and myself) are up and running. 🏃‍♀️

I always like to check out a local quilt shop when we travel, and this year I stopped by Kay’s Quilt Shop in Cape Coral, FL where I picked up a few fat quarters as a memory of the trip.

I spent the rest of the time doing my favorite things with my favorite people: playing endless hours of catch at the beach, watching our favorite summer baseball team play in Fort Myers, and relaxing on the dock of the canal behind our house where we watched baby herons in their nest and even spotted a manatee.

The second half of the year always brings the busy season, and I’m ready to hit the ground running. Right now I’m booking into late October, so please grab a spot in the queue if you have anything you’d like done for Christmas.

Stay cool this week. It looks like we brought the Florida weather home with us. 😉

Jan created a beautiful tribute to America’s 250th anniversary with this thoughtful quilt celebrating all 50 states. 🇺🇸

Each embroidered block features a state’s flower, paired with coordinating fabrics that reflect its unique character. From Illinois violets to Florida oranges and Hawaii hibiscus, every block invites you to slow down and take a closer look. The special center block commemorating America’s 250th anniversary makes this quilt an extra meaningful keepsake.

We chose to quilt it in Groundcover. The leafy design complements the floral embroidery beautifully, adding gentle texture without competing with all of the wonderful details.

Lori brought two delightful quilts to the studio, each with so many fun details to enjoy! 🍄🦊

The mushroom quilt is filled with bold, colorful prints that make every block a little adventure. Lori chose Troubled Seas for the quilting, and its flowing lines add wonderful texture while complementing the whimsical fabrics.

Her woodland quilt is equally charming, with sweet fox, owl, and forest prints made even more special by the beautifully embroidered foxes. Leafy Garland was the perfect quilting design, adding soft texture that fits the woodland theme without overwhelming the piecing and embroidery.

Carolyn’s beautiful quilt shows that sometimes beautiful fabrics and striking design are all a quilt needs to make a statement. 💜💙💚

This interwoven chain design creates wonderful movement across the quilt, and I love how the soft florals and rich jewel tones play against the crisp white background. Every block feels a little different while still coming together as one cohesive design.

For the quilting, Carolyn chose Lisa’s Raindrops in a pale mint thread. The gentle swirls add soft texture and movement without competing with the intricate piecing, and the mint thread quietly blends into the quilt while adding just a hint of color.

Thank you, Carolyn, for trusting me with another beautiful finish. It was a pleasure to quilt! 💕

Three quilts, three completely different stories, and each one stitched with love by Phyllis.

The first is a T-shirt quilt made for a friend, preserving treasured memories in a quilt that can be enjoyed every day. We finished it with SoHo, adding simple texture while letting each meaningful shirt shine.

The second quilt might be one of the sweetest ones I’ve quilted. Phyllis transformed prints of Eva’s original artwork into a keepsake that celebrates her creativity, from colorful paintings to whimsical drawings, all backed with soft minky. Loop the Loop was the perfect quilting choice to complement the playful feel without taking away from Eva’s artwork.

The third quilt was made to match one her granddaughter had already created. I love the bold red, black, and white design, and Geometric Bubbles adds just enough movement to enhance the modern piecing while keeping those crisp lines front and center.

I always enjoy seeing what comes off Phyllis’s sewing machine because every project has a purpose. Whether it’s preserving memories, celebrating a child’s imagination, or creating a connection between generations, her quilts are always made from the heart.

Gerine’s Enchanted quilt, from the 2022 Fat Quarter Mystery Box, is full of cheerful color and timeless charm. The woven basket blocks, soft florals, and warm, vintage-inspired palette create a quilt that feels fresh while still having a classic look.

We quilted it with Felicity, a floral design that echoes the prints throughout the quilt. The gentle curves soften the geometric piecing, while adding beautiful texture across the background, baskets, and border alike.

I especially love the little details in this one; from the tiny floral prints and delicate low-volume fabrics to the bright floral backing that gives the quilt a happy surprise when it’s turned over.

Kim’s Block of the Month quilt from her local quilt shop was such a fun one to see come together!

Each block has its own unique star design and color combination, making every section a little surprise while still creating a beautiful, cohesive quilt. The bright turquoise sashing and cheerful rainbow border tie everything together, and the black fabrics really make each star pop.

We finished this quilt with Loop the Loop in a pale teal thread. The gentle curves add movement and texture without competing with the piecing, letting each month’s block remain the star of the show.

Block of the Month quilts are always rewarding to see finished: one month, one block, and before you know it, you’ve created something beautiful. 💙

I’m officially on the hunt for sun glitter. ✨

I’ll be taking time away this week to enjoy the beach with my family, so my quilting machines will be taking a vacation too.

I’ll be back to work on July 14 with the machines humming again and ready for your quilts. I’ll also be catching up on messages and scheduling then, so if you’ve reached out while I’m away, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can after I return.

Have a wonderful week, and happy quilting!

Easier cleanup than regular glitter, too.
