A piece of American history!

These are actual Army gr***de creates that were manufactured and used in 1974. One was made in Texarkana, Texas and the other was made in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Richard Nixon was president and Gerald Ford was Vice President at this time. These live gr***de boxes were used as reserves for the tail end of the Vietnam War, which ended in April of 1975. You can actually see the round outlines of the gr***des that were housed in these boxes. They were both painted grey to cover up the numbers affiliated with the Army units that used them. I have sanded these boxes to try and maintain their original integrity as much as possible. I also painted two coats worth of clear, polyurethane to protect them, and to bring out the natural characteristics in the 43 year old wood. The tops of these crates have working locks, and I have screwed wheels into the bottom for easy movement.
