I feel this so much, especially this past year. There have been so many new things in my personal life that affected the shop deeply. My health being the main one and adding grandbabies that I desperately want to help take care of and love doing and being able to split my time with the shop, house, grandbabies and my house. Honestly, I have struggled with closing the shop permanently, but I have too much inventory invested to just close the doors because I would lose so much money right now but it’s getting harder to keep it open. It breaks my heart. There are so many people close by in this small community and yet instead of coming right down the road to support their own small town business they drive 30 minutes or farther into town and pay twice as much. When I first opened the shop, my goal was to help people in this small area be able to afford nice things, boutique things and other beautiful things for their home and themselves and to make them feel better about their appearance without having to spend a small fortune or running to town every time they wanted or needed something or just to get out. It’s sad to say that when we first lost our son, I was swamped with customers, but this past year it is down to practically nothing and it’s devastating financially especially but also personally as I was hoping to help this small community and other surrounding small towns. Yes, I have changed my hours out of necessity, but I am still here a great deal and my number in ways to reach me are easily accessible to many to let me know they need to come last minute. I’ve always made myself very flexible with my hours and time to accommodate customers in need, and although my hours and personal life have changed, I am still trying to accommodate people by doing this for them. I don’t know what the future holds as this girl said in her post, but I do know I have to pay my bills. I have to pay insurance for the shop, a huge inventory of bills, insurance, electric, heating. air, and just general maintenance all around for the shop. Will my prices change? Most likely if I can stay open but as of now what’s in the shop will remain at the price they are and most are already drastically reduced 40% off at checkout. If you drive by and see the new sign and think oh I should stop but then keep going that doesn’t help pay my bills. If you get up one morning and think you you’re gonna run to town and wish somewhere was close by that you could go and not have to get cleaned up and everything and spend 30 minutes or more driving but then you don’t contact me to come by that also doesn’t pay my bills and help keep my business going. if you get up and think you should give us a call to come by and see what we have in the shop and what’s on sale but then decide no you’ll just go to town and look since you’re going to town anyway that doesn’t help our morale and our drive to keep this small town business going. The next time you have a last-minute gift to purchase whether it be for a birthday, wedding, graduation from high school or college, Christmas gift for your favorite dentist or dental hygienist, nurse, teacher or just because you want a little something special for yourself -instead of driving to town please consider spending a little bit of time down at our little business and check out all the things you’ve been missing out on. Are you afraid of having a wasted trip down and maybe I’m not here or open? Then use that number at the top of the page and shoot me a text, call or try even messaging me but please remember messenger does take a while sometimes for me to get the message so if you want to know instantly, your best bet is to text or call me. If you just wanna spend a quiet time shopping in the shop alone, I can sit in there and not talk at all unless you need me. If you want help on picking out something for a gift, I will gladly help you. If you need to help picking an outfit out for a graduation party for a wedding you’re in or attending, but you just aren’t sure what things might match. We do have a fitting room and I will gladly help you if needed. If you want come down and browse off and on for a while and sit on the porch and chat I’m more than happy to do that as well. Just please remember to tell your friends about us, stop in when you’re driving by and keep saying you plan to do it, but haven’t yet. Remember, planning to stop and look or thinking about it will be too late once our business closes because you never gave us a chance to help you find some great deals at much more reasonable prices than you can get in town. I don’t know what our future holds, but I do know that I had planned to keep the shop open many more years for something Jeff and I to work on together after he retires the end of this year. I know many small businesses have closed the past few years and that is so sad to see because once all those small businesses that you said you love close, you will be forced to go to town to make your purchases and spend much more. Much more time, much more money, and not have as personal experience as you would patronizing small businesses. Please just consider us the next time you’re needing something and haven’t yet stopped to check us out because we really do hate to close and be another small business unable to make it in this economy right now. If you have been a faithful Customer over the past almost 12 years-Please know we appreciate you very much and hope to continue helping you with all your needs, whether it be for your personal attire or a gift for someone or just because you love shopping-You have been very much appreciated over the years and we hope to continue serving you in the future. thank you.
