Bay Optical Lab We keep you seeing well and looking good! It originally occupied a small office at the corner of Virginia and Mead in North Bend.

Bay Optical Lab first opened its doors in 1970, started by John Flaxel MD, Robert Klever OD and later joined by Arthur Steele MD. The need for more space and better equipped facilities was met in 1979 when Bay Eye Clinic and Bay Optical Lab moved to their current location at 3585 / 3587 Broadway in North Bend. To date we have undergone more than three remodels enlarging our dispensing area and add

ing the only full surface lab on the South Coast. We boast an extensive selection of designer frames as well as a full line of fashion and sport sunglasses. Our experienced opticians are certified by the American Board of Opticians and are trained to help in the selection of the most current lenses and frames to suit every need and lifestyle. Bay Optical Lab exists to educate the public on the availability and uses of newest in state of the art lenses and frames and to provide service long after the glasses are dispensed.

Job Title: Receptionist
HOURS OF WORK: Hours are generally from 8:30 AM to anywhere between 5- 6 PM Monday-Friday.
Starting wage: $12.50-$13.75 depending on experience.
After Probationary Period

POSITION SUMMARY: The position is for a full-time receptionist in a busy professional optical shop/lab. You’ll be working closely with patients while maintaining COVID protocols. The position requires excellent listening and communication skills. The right candidate must have a positive attitude, and work well with others.

SIGNIFICANT DUTIES:
-Punctual and dependable
-Ensure the privacy and security of protected health information per HIPAA requirements
-Greet patients and determine the reason for the visit.
-Complete the required paperwork for the visit.
-Input and scan patient information into the practice management system.
-Collect all information to call and verify benefits and eligibility on any involved insurance.
-Answer and direct phone calls.
-Notify patients when glasses are ready.
-Take payments and give out proper receipts and paperwork.
-Balance cash drawer at the end of the day.
-Restock and straighten the frame boards.
Requirements:
-Good listening and communication skills
-Knowledge of basic mathematical skills
-Ability to sit for long periods.
