Catch Da Beat Apparel was created to improve the health and wellness in the Black and underserved communities. The founder saw that health disparities remain existent in communities that had access yet lack affordability to care. She also saw that her South Carolina rural communities lacked access and affordability to quality health care leading to late staging of diseases, uncontrolled diabetes,
unstable high blood pressures, improperly managed inflammatory disease and early deaths. She saw the sickle cell patients in South Carolina be denied proper pain treatment due to unfounded stereotypes about these patients' experiences. She thought there has to be a way to improve health literacy in the Black Community. Catch Da Beat Apparel was birthed to reach the community through education, resources, opportunities and some swag. Catch the Beat Apparel is dedicated to creating a positive impact in the Black and underserved communities through clothing which serves as a vehicle to bring awareness, education, and resources to close the gap in health disparities and inequities. Our clothing enables the creation of a powerful collective that inspires and funds community outreach through collaboration with local organizations.
