SweetGrass Clothing Co. Gullah/Geechee Street Wear Brand

The fire was real. The loss was real. And so was the love. From the calls, to the texts, to the pull-ups just to make sure we were good, we appreciate every bit of it. Many of you asked how you could help. The truth is, most of you already have. Every time you bought SweetGrass, every time you wore SweetGrass, every time you told someone about SweetGrass, you were building the foundation that lets us recover when life starts life-ing. Support is not sympathy. Support is investment. And ya’ll have invested in us for years.

The binya pin is here for ya’ll. The Day Ones. The ones who understand that this is bigger than clothing. We ain’ come ya. We binya. When tragedy strikes, we don’t start from zero, we go back to our foundation. One that was built on family, community, and good business.

If you’re wondering how to stand with us, keep doing what you’ve been doing. Buy SweetGrass. Wear SweetGrass. Post SweetGrass. Talk about SweetGrass. That is how we rebuild the house. That is how we protect the future. We don’t bend. We don’t fold. We take our L’s and keep it pushing. Something always emerges from the ashes. Every. Single. Time. – SweetGrass Clothing Management

Haven’t done one of these in a while…

Like we said, 2026 is back to the basics.
If you’re new to SweetGrass, Welcome! Our designs are simple yet meaningful. Quality comes first, always. When you’re representing the culture, it is not enough to look good. It has to feel right.

Our snapbacks are built to live with you. Errands. Airport days. Finishing a fit without forcing it. The symbolism is subtle. The ones who know see it immediately, give a quiet nod, and keep it moving. The ones who don’t just say, “That’s a nice hat,” and keep it moving. Both reactions are exactly the point.

We move fast too. We do not sit on orders. Online shopping is a gamble, and we respect that. That means packing, shipping, and getting it to you without delays.

If you’ve never ordered from us, this is your sign! All we need is one chance and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed. When it arrives, the quality, the feel, and the intention behind it will speak for itself. So try us out today! Shipping is on us! 🙏🏾

🗣️ FAMILY! Thank y’all for the calls, messages, DMs, and comments! We appreciate every last one of y’all for real!

🗣️ FAMILY! Thank y’all for the calls, messages, DMs, and comments! We appreciate every last one of y’all for real!

Our brand stood in solidarity with our fellow Gullah/Geechee natives and fellow SCSU Bulldogs, Kris Kaylin and KJ Kearny of Black Food Fridays, when we released our Signature Charleston Snapback. We never mentioned Raymond V. Charles (He has us blocked apparently) in the video, the caption, or anywhere else. We only referenced the videos we used, all with permission.

He then entered our comments claiming that we were using his NIL (name, image, likeness) to sell our hats. Our résumé speaks for itself. Jadakiss is literally on our homepage. Our first instinct was to engage, but when he doubled down and said, “F🤬 yo culture,” it became clear we were dealing with someone with deeper issues.

After a brief exchange in our comments, we decided to block him and refocus on our drop and our supporters. He took this as us dodging his accusation and proceeded to find our page. He is now threatening to leave reviews for our clothing brand.

A review platform should be neutral and detached, yet he is threatening to purchase our clothing solely to leave a negative review and to throw it out the window. At this point, we felt this had gone far enough. With even minimal research, he would know that the owners of this business are committed to uplifting the Gullah/Geechee culture and actively work within the Gullah/Geechee community. From serving as an administrator at the largest psychiatric facility in Columbia, South Carolina, to fixing teeth in North Charleston, mentoring students in Charleston County schools, and orchestrating the repair of a bridge on I-26, you are dealing directly with someone who founded this brand.

If the clothes are trash, then they are trash. That is his opinion. Our supporters say otherwise, and that is the only opinion that matters to us. Our Day 1s have never switched up, even through bad batches.

We do not tear down our own people, no matter what is done to us. You got it. Be blessed, bro! Tag him so he can see this! 🙏🏾

The Signature Charleston Snapback exists to honor where this started, not to explain it. January 16th marks six years of SweetGrass Clothing and the twins’ birthday, making this hat a tribute to our roots and the city that shaped us.

Last week, shipping delays caused our limited stock to sell out faster than expected. We have now received our full shipment, and the Signature Charleston SnapBack is officially restocked for those who were waiting.

We want to thank everyone who showed up, supported, and spoke up. We heard y’all loud and clear. Moving forward, we are focused on uplifting the culture and refusing to give energy to negativity. From here on out, we point, laugh, and block. There is too much love to give hate any attention.

We are the Gullah/Geechee brand!
We binya!

Some people show up to Charleston looking for content. Calling our food and culture “overrated” isn’t a critique. It’s disrespect dressed up as entertainment, and too many people laugh along like pride is optional.

That’s the line. There is no “seeing both sides,” and the devil doesn’t need advocates. Culture doesn’t survive on silence, and it doesn’t defend itself with comments. It defends itself with action.

The Charleston Signature Snapback is that action. Not to explain anything. Not to go back and forth. Just the city. Worn by the few who don’t want there to be any confusion about which side they stand on. We told y’all we’re going back to the basics in 2026.

We ARE the Gullah Geechee brand. So any disrespect to the culture is disrespect to us. If you’re engaging with disrespect, you’re not with us. So when they leave, go with them.

If you want one, hit the link in our bio or comment “Charleston,” and we’ll DM you the link directly.
If you stand in solidarity with Charleston, share this video to your story to let the world know.

It’s time we draw the line.

To our DAY ONEs… the ones who have been with us from the first collection, the first stitch, the first risk taken in faith, this is for you. You saw the vision without proof, before there was momentum, when all we had was intention and work. Your support was not passive. It was deliberate. It was belief. It was faith. As this year closes, we acknowledge that nothing we have built stands without you standing with us. Going into 2026, we are going back to the basics. Craft. Culture. Discipline. Community. We’re tightening the Inner Circle and honoring the people who carried us when it was just us. We appreciate each and every one of you, and we pray that in 2026 we will be even more of a blessing in your lives, as you have been in ours. Happy New Year.

Motion vs. Momentum
Motion is what the world sees, but momentum is the foundation people rarely see because they never look past the surface. People saw six brothers launch a clothing brand and assumed the articles, the attention, the drops were the beginning of us establishing motion, but momentum doesn’t start when the world notices you. It starts when no one is watching. Our mother spent forty years teaching our community and thirty years sewing in the same community. In the same room with the same hands and the same patience, a seamstress long before we ever imagined a brand. We watched fabric become form, cloth become culture, discipline become design. That was momentum, years of repetition building weight and years of velocity shaping direction, mass times velocity long before we understood what physics was. Motion is activity, momentum is legacy. Motion burns out. Momentum carries you. If you want something real, stop chasing motion and the noise that follows it. Build momentum, the work done in private, the skills no one applauds, the repetitions that build force behind your next step. Because when momentum finally moves, it may look like motion to everybody else, but you will know the truth. You will know it came from everything you built long before the world was watching.
