Charleston County School of the Arts - SOA Costume & Fashion Design Major The School of the Arts Fashion Design Major is a fun and exciting major which includes sketching, clothing design and lots of sewing!

The Costume & Fashion Design Major at SOA was founded by Mrs. Marie Nichols in 2014 and has a history and reputation of excellence as an elective, recognized both regionally and nationally, for 14 years! Former students have won scholarships to top design schools in the nation. Currently we have design students at FIT, VCU, FIDM (Los Angeles), SCAD and Central St. Martin’s in London; and also have

former SOA Costume & Fashion Design elective students with successful careers in various facets of the garment industry. This major is founded on the rich legacy of the elective and strives to be a place of diligence, distinction and success for our students. The CCSD SOA Costume and Fashion Design Major is a special, interdisciplinary major which includes drawing, draping, flat pattern design, garment construction, sewing, history, exploring design concepts and industry awareness.

I don't know why I'm so bad at taking great photos but the Pizza Social tonight at Mellow Mushroom was a fun success! All y'all who didn't show up, we missed you. Some great parents pledged to be active participants in making this year great, especially with travel, and I am over the moon with joy about that. Welcome to all the new fashion design students and welcome back to all the returning fashion design students!!!
