Today marked a meaningful milestone for Lusheous Collection Inc as the team completed the mural/sliding wall doors inside the store.

The mural was thoughtfully designed by founder Renika J. Smiley to honor the memory of her beloved family members who have passed away over the past several years, including both of her parents, grandparents, and close relatives. After experiencing significant family loss between 2020 and 2025, Renika chose to incorporate their legacy directly into the heart of the store.

Through the inheritance left by her mother and aunt, Renika was able to launch Lusheous Collection and transform grief into purpose by building a brand rooted in family, fashion, and legacy.

For Renika, Lusheous Collection is more than a boutique—it is a tribute to the stylish, strong women in her family whose memory continues to inspire the brand’s vision.

As the team prepares for its upcoming soft launch, this moment serves as a reminder that every part of the business has been built with intention, love, and legacy in mind.

Last night was a milestone moment for Lusheous Collection ✨

Founder and designer Renika J. Smiley showcased Lusheous Collection Inc as a featured fashion designer at the Aviatra Accelerators Fashion Gala. The runway presentation highlighted the brand’s commitment to confidence, visibility, and bold style for women who refuse to shrink themselves.

Lusheous Collection extends a heartfelt thank you to the women who modeled the collection and brought the designs to life on stage. Their presence and energy embodied the spirit of the brand.

As a proud graduate of the Aviatra Momentum Accelerator, Renika also donated a $1,000 Lusheous Collection scholarship to support the next woman entering the program. The Momentum experience helped shape the growth strategy of Lusheous Collection, strengthened pitching skills, and prepared Renika to tell the brand’s story — preparation that contributed to securing 2nd place in the Hamilton County pitch competition ($3,000).

Lusheous Collection is proud to invest back into spaces that empower women entrepreneurs and build lasting impact.

It’s fashion show season! Tomorrow is the Fundraising Fashion Show, and is honored to be a featured designer in the showcase.

Today my models came into Lusheous Collection to try on their looks ahead of the show. I’m implementing a new structure for upcoming fashion showcases — in-store fittings to ensure every model is styled, confident, and runway-ready. Preparation is everything, and I’m excited to continue raising the bar for our local shows.

Can’t wait to see it all come together tomorrow!

Today is a moment I’ve been dreaming about — our Lusheous Collection Inc sign is officially installed. And I’m sitting here full of joy.

Huge shoutout to Mike at Hurts Signs & Services for bringing the vision to life and matching the sign perfectly to our store. I haven’t cried yet… but I feel it in my spirit. This is one of those milestones that reminds you how far you’ve come.

We started as an online boutique. Vendor pop-ups. Fashion shows. New York Fashion Week. Atlanta. Raleigh. Cleveland. Columbus. Traveling city to city, hiring influencers, selling out of racks, pitching, fundraising, landing grants, and fighting for every step forward.

But Lusheous was born from something deeper.

It started as a promise to myself. My weight has fluctuated my entire life, and every time I gained, my self-esteem dropped. Depression. Anxiety. Hiding. Not dressing up because I didn’t like the size I was. This time I told myself: I will love me at every size. And I have. I’ve never been more confident in my life than I am right now — at my biggest. That taught me something powerful: confidence is built inward, not outward.

I’m still on my health journey, but today I celebrate self-love, growth, and resilience.

We’re getting closer to opening — targeting the first week of March once final details are complete. Thank you to every single shopper, supporter, and person who has walked this journey with us. Lusheous exists because of you.

This is only the beginning. 💫

Whew — is BOOKED & BUSY! 💃🏽✨

We’re stepping into THREE fashion shows, and today I styled Amber, one of our gorgeous models for the Rock Your Beauty Fashion Show — Cincinnati’s biggest body-positivity runway celebrating every body, every size, every woman.

This year’s theme? 70s realness.
Amber picked two custom jumpsuits I specially ordered from our vendors — and BABY, she ateeee 😍

What I love? This show supports models with funds to shop their looks — meaning they get to slay AND keep their outfits. In this economy? We LOVE to see it 👏🏽

Now I gotta outdo myself as the CEO — so best believe my 70s look will be LAVISH.
