Hey everyone! 🌟 I wanted to share a little about the fascinating Filipino tradition of having nicknames and how it's been a part of my own identity. 🇵🇭

In the Philippines, nicknames are more than just shortened versions of our names – they're a reflection of our unique personalities, our close-knit communities, and the diverse cultural influences that have shaped us over time.

🌺 Why Nicknames?

Warmth and Familiarity: Nicknames create an instant sense of connection and closeness in our relationships. They're like a secret code that only our closest friends and family know.

🎗️ August is Appendix Cancer Awareness Month. My mom battled this rare disease and been NDA for 2 years!! Despite the challenges she faced, she remained strong, and her journey inspired us all. Bess Livioco

📈 Did you know that appendix cancer has been thought to affect about 1 or 2 people per 1 million per year. However, recent studies show that appendiceal cancer is becoming more common. It is more common in people between the ages of 50 and 55 years old, but can happen at any age. It's crucial to spread awareness about this rarity, so we can support those fighting this battle and advocate for more research.

🎗️ Last year, we joined the Heat It To Be It Walk, a patient-led event creating awareness for life-saving HIPEC treatment. This year, my mom will sing a special song!
