As the last of the competitors make their way home, we want to take a moment to reflect on this past weekend’s event. Battleground has truly grown into a world-class competition, bringing riders from across the globe to Cleveland Ohio to compete for the title of Battleground Grandmaster. Over the past three years, we at Flatland Assassins have learned a tremendous amount about what it takes to plan and execute an event of this scale—but we also recognize there’s still plenty more to learn.

For every challenge we overcome, new ones appear. This year, one of the biggest was judging and competitor classes. We heard your feedback and understand there was some confusion in those areas. We’re committed to making the necessary improvements to clarify the judging process and class structure, ensuring that everything is clear, fair, and transparent for next year’s event. Hosting an event of this magnitude isn’t easy, but our mission remains the same: to continue building the premier flatland BMX event in North America—and, hopefully, the world.

We also want to extend a huge thank you to our sponsors and supporters who helped make this event possible. Your contributions allow us to bring the flatland community together and keep this sport thriving.

At its core, Battleground is our gift back to the flatland community—a celebration of the riders, the passion, and the culture that continue to push the sport forward. This event has always been, and will always be, for the riders. Without all of you, none of this would be possible.
