One of my favorite families came in last week! It was so nice to see them and enjoy memories we’ve experienced together. Such a great group of people!

Our family built a cool place to come to in North Topsail. We’re the only surf shop up this way and we wanted to make it an experience—of not just a surf shop (with pretty awesome designs, handmade by Danny I might say) but a place to go to for rentals, surf lessons, and oh look there’s ice cream too! We began with just a small little store with Italian ice inside. Then acquired the most adorable little shack that we turned into The Last Mango, ice cream shack and expanded the store to the unit next to us. It was everything Danny envisioned.

Recently, we got a new landlord who decided that everything outside our store walls needed to be removed within 5 days (via email which I saw on day 2). We have put our blood, sweat, and recently tears, into this place we love. We are at our lowest low and I’m sure he’s going to come back with more.

But when you’re down, there are those that pick you up and make sure you stay on your feet. To the Roger’s Bay community - THANK YOU! You showed up in numbers! You showed up with kind words, compassion, resolutions, and help! We are so ever grateful and truly touched by all of you. I’ve cried more over the love you’ve shared than the pain this man is putting us through. We’ve never seen a community quite like this before and are so glad to be a part of it! We hope to continue to be here for you ❤️

Edit: the surf shop is still up and running—just losing our items we had outside. The Last Mango carts will also still be out on the beach.

We are beyond sad. We had the coolest set-up in town. Our vibe is broken.

We have a new landlord, so have to go 😭 We’d love if you’d come help us empty out the ice cream! Final days are tonight and Saturday. Drop In Surf Shop will remain alive and active along with our carts on the beach ❤️
