“Chris and I lived one floor apart in college, and there was an instant spark. We even went to see The Strokes at MSG back in 2011, just to give you an idea of how far back we go. Life pulled us in different directions for years after that, but we always stayed in touch through music, sending songs back and forth and never completely losing each other.
When we finally reconnected, it was like no time had passed.

I grow dahlias and had come across the floral arrangement workshops at Kestrel, which is how the shop first landed on my radar. I fell in love with everything you do and saw that you carried fine jewelry. We loved that we could support two small businesses at once with Kestrel and jewelry designer Yasuko Azuma, so we turned picking out a ring into a day trip.

We spent the afternoon walking through the botanical gardens, grabbing coffee, and trying on rings together. It was just the sweetest, easiest day.

Getting engaged in the crowd at Shaky Knees while The Strokes played live brought over ten years of history full circle. Having this ring is the best reminder of all of it.”
