Job Overview
Join our vibrant team as a Farm Hand, Tour Guide, and Retail Associate, where your energy and enthusiasm will bring farm life to visitors and support our operations seamlessly. In this dynamic role, you’ll engage with guests, assist with daily farm maintenance, and provide exceptional customer service. Your passion for outdoor work and teaching will help create memorable experiences for visitors while ensuring the farm runs smoothly. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on farming, engaging tours, and retail responsibilities in a lively environment that celebrates community and nature. For the right candidate, this could become a full-time position.
Farm Chores Responsibilities:
This portion of the job includes physical, hands-on work such as raking, shoveling, sweeping, pushing full wheelbarrows, filling hay feeders, carrying water buckets, and assisting with daily barn and farm care, and winter snow removal. Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and able to perform routine physical labor.
Retail Store Responsibilities:
Duties in the retail store include greeting visitors and providing friendly, helpful service, operating the point of sale system, handling transactions, restocking shelves, keeping the shop clean and organized, and sharing information about our farm and alpaca-related products.
Tour Responsibilities:
As a farm tour guide, you will lead small-group tours of the alpaca farm, explain alpaca basics, behavior, and the farm’s history, and answer visitor questions to create a welcoming and educational experience.
Our Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, is physically active, and is comfortable with manual labor. Strong communication and customer service skills are important, along with the ability to multitask and work independently across a range of responsibilities. A genuine appreciation for animals and a friendly, professional attitude are essential to this role.
Experience in farm work, retail sales, or public speaking is helpful but not required—complete training will be provided. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a flexible, non-restrictive schedule and reliable transportation. Email or call Corry at [email protected], or 207-356-2464.
