I hope you are all having a wonderful summer. I know the past few days have been really hot, so I hope you’re keeping cool. I’ve had the opportunity to indulge in my favorite summer activity….going to the beach. If you enjoy spending days by the water you might be interested in my latest Clydebank Tote. It is all cotton with zippered pockets inside and out, a full mesh slip pocket in the lining and a recessed zipper to keep all of your items secure inside. Hello again. In my last post I shared the Clydebank Tote based on a Sew Sweetness pattern. Today I'm posting another Sew Sweetness pattern bag...the Tower Crossbody. I don't alter this pattern but instead change the look of the bag by using different materials, adding embroidery or using a single fabric. You can see in the photo how each one looks very unique. This is a great bag for being out and about hands free. It is 10"L x 10 1/2"H x 1 1/2"D, large enough to carry your essentials but sits close to the body. It has a zippered pocket on the outside and inside lining and has an adjustable crossbody strap. This bag also has foam between the lining and exterior fabric so it holds it's shape, while being lightweight. If you're interested in learning more about this bag please contact me.

Meet the Clydebank Tote. This tote is available in 2 sizes. The large is 13"L x 14"T x5"W, the small is 9 1/2 x 14 x 3. These totes can hold a lot but since they are lightweight (the large weighs about 13 oz) it won't weigh you down. The base pattern is from Sew Sweetness, however I make modifications to the pattern. They all have a recessed zipper top closure, an inside zip pocket and purse feet, however, some also have an outside zipper pocket, side slip pockets, inside slip pockets or a trolley sleeve. The Clydebank can have a very different appearance whether they are made in quilters cotton, a combo of cotton and cork, faux fur, faux suede or cotton canvas. They all stand up on their own because, no matter the material, they have a "core" of foam. I currently have some large Clydebanks available but I am also able to create a custom bag for you. Hello, and welcome to Wading River Stitchery's page. My name is Sharon Kelly and I make handcrafted bags and accessories in my home in Massachusetts. Up until now, I have been selling in person only. I am so grateful for all of my wonderful customers who have helped me grow and shape my business with their purchases, referrals and suggestions. Many of the features my bags offer have evolved and originated from customer requests. One request I've gotten often is to have an online presence. Since technology is not my strong point (It's my generation. Anyone else remember rotary dial phones?) I have resisted. Well the time has come to stop resisting and dip my toe into social media.
