Loretta Lynn MX was one hell of a trip. 2 weeks of camping and racing with all of our moto friends!

When this season began the goal was simple, make it to the ranch. Once Nick accomplished that, we took a hard look and set high goals. Looking for top 10 rides with the ultimate goal to put it in the top 5. This is no easy feat at the national level, as many of these kids work consistently with trainers, spend time/ live at facilities and put in serious amount of work.

Practice started off well, he was cool, calm collected and executed his plan of staying reserved and learning the track.

First moto comes around and he manages a great chip pick, pulling #2! The great gate pick helped with the start, coming out of the first turn 10th. He battled hard, working up to 5th. A few bobbles saw him drop back to 10th- on the last lap while setting up a pass, Nick had a huge crash while running wide open. He flipped multiple times and was separated from the bike. He managed to get back up and going, but fell 2 more times on that final lap, finishing 39/42. A heartbreaker for a kid hanging it all on the line.

Second moto came and a bad start saw him come out of the first turn 40th. The boy fought hard to make it to 23rd, but his outright speed just wasn’t there.

Third moto, slightly better start but still battling from 30th. He clicked off the laps and passed 14 people, making his way to 16th.

It wasn’t until after all the motos he told me his goal was “to not go over the bars again”

If you’re going to succeed at this level there’s no room for doubt. Unfortunately that first moto crash overshadowed the rest of his performances.

But in the end, 39-23-16 finishes his first time at the ranch is still impressive. These are the fastest kids in the nation, and even being off his A game he was still able to battle with the best.

There was so much learned in this trip. We’ll take the good, the bad and everything in between and continue to put the work in, because we’ll be back next year!

So proud of this boy, and for my whole family. The work they’ve put in, the sacrifices they’ve made so we could be here and chase these dreams is real, and it hasn’t been an easy road. Through it all we stuck together and made it happen.

I am sincerely grateful to everyone that has helped us. So many people reached out to help however they could. It’s incredibly humbling. I cannot thank you all enough! We would not have been here if it wasn’t for all of you.

We’re taking a week off to recoup and then hitting it hard with some of the biggest races of the year left to come!

P25 moto 2. Not the results we were looking for.
*edit* I should really check the results 🤣 p23 in moto 2. 17 passes.

We actually ended up with a halfway decent gate, even with a 39th pick.

Dad didn’t do his job. I should have known better to clean that rut rather than pack it in. Tire dug and the rest was history.

40th going in the first turn. Little man charged hard to get up there but he ended up getting caught in other kids speed.

I know he’s got more in him than this. Hopefully we can end the weekend with a better result.

Last moto is tonight, wish this boy some luck. Looking for a good start to point him in the right direction. 💪

Man, moto is such a cruel mistress.

One minute you’re battling at the front and the next you’re picking yourself up off the ground.

One thing is for sure, this boy showed up and let everyone know he belongs. A rough crash last lap ruined an incredible ride. To be in the top 10 at Loretta Lynn MX is an achievement.

A solid overall is out of reach but there’s still 2 more motos to get some redemption.

He’ll be holding it wide from the outside with a 37th gate pick 💀🤣
