For this Delta pilot jacket, the sleeves needed to be shortened and tapered for a slimmer, more tailored fit, all while preserving the original gold rank striping on the cuffs.

That means carefully deconstructing the sleeve, adjusting the width, repositioning the braid details, and rebuilding everything so the finished result looks completely original, as if it came directly from the manufacturer that way.

When buying pants or dresses, focus on the fit in the waist and shoulders first.

Length is the easiest alteration to adjust later.

So if something is a little long but fits well everywhere else — it can usually be tailored perfectly.
