History, innovation… and of course I found the sewing machines. 🧵❤️

My husband and I spent the weekend exploring the Henry Ford Museum, and while we walked through some incredible pieces of American history, I couldn’t help but stop and admire every sewing machine we came across.

From machines dating all the way back to 1852 through 1955, it was amazing to see how sewing technology has evolved over more than a century. As a quilt pattern designer, I couldn’t help but imagine all the beautiful quilts, garments, and memories these machines helped create.

I’m Brooke—the quilt pattern designer behind Brooke’s Bitchin’ Stitches. By day, I’m a mechanical engineer and project manager. By nights and weekends, I’m usually surrounded by fabric, designing colorful pixelated quilt patterns and dreaming up my next creative project.
