Being an independent designer for 10 years comes with deep reflection. I wrestled with what it means to keep going in this industry, but the thought of stopping felt like a much deeper loss—because through every season, I’ve never questioned my desire to design and connect with the people who wear my pieces.

OTSWA grew out of a quiet, persistent pull toward creating a unisex line. It marks the next chapter in my life as a designer, born from a desire for ease, form, and shared identity.

I’m so proud to put this out into the world, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who continues to walk this path with me.

Such a big transition, and I’m feeling all the feels, but most of all, I’m feeling a lot of support from the AW community. I’ve sent out a couple of newsletters now letting people know that I’m closing my namesake label, and the response has been overwhelmingly beautiful. Over the last year, I took a lot of time to reflect on where I am as a designer and where I want to go with my creative work. These past 10 years have been the most fulfilling, and I’m grateful to all of those who’ve helped further my brand including everyone who has bought and cherishes an AW piece. I’m currently running a closing sale with 60% off site wide, and although, I’m 80% sold through at the time of this post, please take a look to see if anything catches your eye for the last time. Working on new styles and giving you a glimpse into the production process. I’ve been working with Daniel for the past 5 years, and it’s very reassuring when you can hit a groove with your contractors. For a process that involves so many steps and moving parts, it makes production a lot smoother. When I asked Daniel for his IG handle, he responded, “What’s that?”

beautiful posters from yesterday’s protest, and some moments that’ll stick with me - making eye contact & smiling with a woman in her apartment window as she showed her dog the march, watching an older man put his hand on his heart as we walked past his house, and seeing another man in his late 80s march with an Abolish ICE sign. I love Oakland so much.
