Save the date for the 39th Annual Halloween Celebration on Piedmont Avenue!

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 24th from 11am - 1pm. There will be trick-or-treating at participating businesses and also fun, kid-friendly entertainment. We are so excited to see you! 🎃

At 11am, head to Pet Food Express for the kick-off with Orchestra Euphonos. Then dance up the street with them & look for the Candy Station signs to start trick-or-treating at all your favorite businesses.

Take note that a large part of Piedmont Ave will be closed to cars from 11am - 1pm!

Mountain View Cemetery will be having their annual Halloween event from 12pm - 3pm and Piedmont Avenue Elementary will be having their annual fundraising carnival from 11am - 3pm!

We are so excited to welcome back Alameda artist, Lisa Bojorquez, as our featured artist! Her show will be up from Sept. 19th through Nov 15th.

About the Artist:

 My exploration of abstract painting started in 2015. Abstract expression became my way of letting go of my subconscious thoughts and emotions ...with no rules and no boundaries...art gave me purpose.  

Born in San Francisco, CA and having lived in the Bay Area for many years up until college, I then moved to Tucson, AZ where I took my first course in Contemporary Art at the University of Arizona in 2002. There I learned about the influences of Contemporary Art of the 21st century.  As a business major I later gained an internship at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in downtown Tucson as an assistant.  MOCA sparked my first fascination of becoming an artist one day, which didn't come until many years later. After college I moved to San Diego, CA needing to be close to the ocean and there I stayed for 18 years. There I found my talent.

My paintings reflect a blend of inspirations from nature, love and moments in every day life both from living in Northern & Southern California. My pieces are in acrylic medium and I love to practice between contrasts of dark and light as well as motion and depth.
