A big thank you to a sweet customer who allowed me to be a part of her story by making memory bears from her father-in-laws shirts to pass on to close relatives in her family. ❤️

It’s been a couple of weeks since I posted, so here are a few beauties I did for a lady whose grandmother had passed. The order was for twelve bears. She was gifting them to the children and grandchildren.
They are made from T-shirts, blouses and velour sweatsuits the grandmother had worn. I cut out pockets and designs that were on the clothes, since my customer didn’t want the embroidered patch I sometimes use.
My customer was very pleased with her bears. The recipients of the bears will have a forever memory of the lady that held such a special place in their heart.

This week I want to share a memory quilt I created for a customer from her baby clothes.
I had finished a previous order from this customer. When she came to pick it up, she had a bag her mom had given her. In it were clothes she had worn when she was a baby. They were so dainty and pretty. We laid out all the little garments and decided to make a quilt.
As I laid out the clothes, I wanted to show off all the intricate details and the uniqueness in the little clothes. I wanted to choose colors that would make the items stand out.
My customer was happy with the outcome of the quilt. I believe this beauty will be something that will be treasured and passed down through generations. It will definitely be a way to share precious memories and stories from their past.

If you have boxes of clothes tucked away, pull them out of storage and let’s see what we can create with them.

The first memory bears I made were in April 2020. These are the first group with 2 bears and one bunny. A sweet lady brought me 8 shirts of her son’s, who she had lost tragically. She was having these made for three godchildren her son had and were going to be given to them at a memorial service. Tears of sorrow, pain, appreciation and peace overcame us both when she picked them up.
I kept the shirts and scraps and this past Christmas (2021), made her three more memory bears (pictured in second picture) that were gifted in memory of her son. She was such a joy to work with and will always hold a special place in my heart

It's been a long time since I last posted --- way to long! I had a good 2021 in spite of the chaos and uncertainty! I made lots of memory bears and several quilts. There is no doubt I have found the calling God has for my life. I am truly blessed to be able to share my passion and play a part in making sweet memories with my customers.
With my customers permission, I will be sharing my work and a little story behind each project. Being an empath, I wear my heart on my sleeve, so there have been lots of sorrow, laughter and tears shared as my customers, who I also consider my friends, share their memories and stories with me. It makes my job so rewarding to know I have played a small part in their story.
