Do you like to make items to wear in the summer or are you strictly a cold weather wear knitter?

I love wearing knits all year round and this is my latest warm weather item.

This is Stromboli by Caitlin Hunter . I knit it in my new base summer, which is a fine superwash Merino/ cotton/ linen blend in the color Moody Blue. This was a fun very memorizable lace pattern that I found enjoyable to knit and I love the way it looks on. If you’ve knit lace before and bottom up sweaters before you could definitely give this on a try. I also did a Ravelry project page for it and my user name on Ravelry is Hopemade.

Hope and her yarn will be at The Knitting Niche Wednesday, June 24th 10am - 5pm for a trunk show! She’ll have her newest base, Summer, a Superwash fine Merino, cotton, linen with her, as well as 7 other bases! There will be lots of samples to help inspire you, hope to see you there!

Today is four years since my last Radiation treatment. Normally I go out to dinner with all three of my boys to celebrate, but this year I’m working at a Fiber Festival.
This year’s celebration included, a wonderful dinner at Zeina’s Cafe with my friends , on the way back Debbie mentioned the ice cream shop near my hotel, and Ben decided we needed dessert, so he and I walked over.

This is my friendly reminder to listen to your body, and go to the doctor when something doesn’t feel right. I’m happy to say, I saw my radiation oncologist in May and he said at this point the chance of recurrence is very low and that he doesn’t need to see me for a year, which means I truly feel like a survivor!

Life is short take care of yourself and eat desert if you want to!

This coming Saturday and Sunday June 6&7, I’m vending for the first time at the CNY Fiber Festival at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds, 135 Cemetery Street, Frankfort, NY. Look for me in Building A!
