π RieRie's Sunday Story
The Little White Bench
When I was little, there was always a place to sit beside someone who loved me.
Sometimes it was a porch swing.
Sometimes it was the church pew.
Sometimes it was a little white bench.
It never mattered where we sat.
What mattered was who was beside us.
One Sunday afternoon, a little girl climbed onto the bench carrying a handful of wildflowers she'd picked just for me.
"They're not perfect," she whispered.
I smiled and tucked one behind her ear.
"The prettiest flowers," I told her,
"are the ones picked with love."
She looked at the little shopping bag beside us.
"Are those new baby shoes?"
"They are," I said.
"Someone's grandmother will buy those today.
And years from now...
those tiny shoes won't matter nearly as much as the memories made while wearing them."
She leaned against my shoulder.
We watched butterflies dance through the flowers.
Neither of us hurried to leave.
Some moments are too precious to rush.
β€οΈ RieRie's Thought for the Week
The smallest gifts are rarely the ones we keep...
They're the ones that help us make memories we'll never forget.

RieRie
"Until next Sunday... keep making little memories." β€οΈ
