This girl. This now 5-year-old little girl is the reason I started Ojai Lingerie.
I'm Malory Taylor and I launched Ojai Lingerie as a sweet little brick and mortar in downtown Ojai California in 2019.
Well, we all know what happened in 2020. Having only signed a year lease, I made the decision in February 2020, before any of the mandated closures, to move online to keep my daughter, family, and community safe.
I thought I could ride things out for a few months and reopen in a new location that fall. We've had quite the roller-coaster ride, haven't we? For those in mourning, please accept my sincere condolences.
The truth is, my passion has always been for the people -- not just the lingerie -- and I adore loving you in real life. My cup is filled by seeing you exude joy and confidence. Seeing you feel beautiful just as you are is my calling. I guess that's why I go above and beyond for my local deliveries -- I'm just trying to catch that feeling again.
I thought about just quietly fading away but I love you too much for that. I think it's fair to note that being just online isn't working for me. Sometimes giving myself ultimatums activates the universe. So, here it is: If by the end of this year I don't find a physical location, I will discover my next calling.
I've been in Ojai for over 13 years and was born and raised just 30 minutes away. My last position outside of business was as Associate Director of Development for OVS -- During my 8 years there, I forged some lifelong friendships. I've also been involved with Ojai Rotary, Toastmasters, and was named Best Volunteer of the year for Ventura County some years back when I was in college (Go Gauchos).
Ojai isn't just my business name. Ojai is my community. As an independent business owner and mom I love doing this and hope to see you all in person soon.
