For the past 50 years, it’s been amazing to see so many talented athletes from the Greater Lansing area come together and compete in this championship event.

Last week we concluded the largest session of the Playmakers Kids Run Club ever with over 55 kids completing their goal of running 3 kilometers. We couldn’t have asked for a better night filled with plenty of fun, sunshine, and running! 🏃‍➡️☀️

Huge thanks to the parents, volunteers, and Meridian Township Parks & Recreation for your continued support of the Kids Run Club. Without you, opportunities to help kids grow their love of running and fitness would not be possible.

Join Playmakers, the Playmakers Foundation, and Brooks Running as we celebrate Global Running Day with an evening full of movement, community, and fun at the Playmakers Global Running Day Celebration!

We’re heading to Nancy Moore Park in Haslett for a celebration featuring:

• Suggested 5K route
• Both paved and dirt trail options
• Music and light refreshments at home base
• Demo shoes from our friends at Brooks!

The festivities kick off around 5:30pm with music and time to connect with the Brooks team before the community run/walk begins at 6pm.

Whether you’re taking a casual lap around the park, tackling the full 5K, or adding on extra miles, come ready to move, celebrate, and enjoy an amazing night with the community!

The 50th running of the Greater Lansing Honor Roll Track and Field Championship will officially take place on Tuesday, May 26th, with field events starting at 4:00 pm, and running events starting at 5:30.

The Jr. Greater Lansing Honor Roll Track and Field meet will be held the following day, on Wednesday, May 27th, at Okemos High School.

And to celebrate the history of Honor Roll one final time, we're excited to share with you a collection of photos from 2002, when the event still took place at J. W Sexton High School.

John Benedict, retired second-generation owner of Playmakers, was inducted into the Running Industry Association Hall of Fame this week. 👏

JB’s impact reaches far beyond the Playmakers community — he helped shape the running industry as a whole through his leadership, mentorship, and commitment to moving the industry forward. As a founding member of both the Running Industry Diversity Coalition and The Running Collective, his influence will be felt for generations to come.

This spring, we were glad to have partnered with the Lansing School District for the second year of Kids Run Lansing. A free after-school program designed to give kids a chance to learn about Good Form Running and develop a lifelong love of sport and fitness along the way.

Taking place throughout April and May, the program culminated with a fun track meet out at the J. W Sexton High School where kids got to participate in events such as the 70m dash, 800m run, long jump, and more!

Special thanks to all the coaches and volunteers who brought their energy, encouragement, and inspiration at the track meet and throughout the entirety of the program!

And huge thanks to & 100 Women of Lansing for their generous help in providing kids with footwear that helped kickstart their running journey!
