Yeah…well, sometimes it is best to just slow down, pause, and tell God “Thank You” for His protection. And many times, we’re the ones under construction.

Take a deep breath in.

Now exhale.

🪡 S&R Storytime 🪡

I’ve always wanted to design something “from scratch” for my mom.

For years my mom has made me school outfits, church outfits, or has altered clothing for me. Then she began teaching me “the way of the needle.”

It was now time to design something for her. Not as a “I owe you,” but because I wanted to show her a deeper level of appreciation. (No, I’m not gonna cry.) 🤭

Were there tears making this? Yes. Were there challenges? Yes. Did we quit? Nope! I learned during the process: drafting, altering, all within the same stitches.

And what made it more beautiful, was that I was able to show her all the things she’s taught me in sewing, as well as some things I’ve taken further. She was already proud of me, and I had nothing to prove—and she still held my hand when there were tears. When I messed up and I had to pull out the good ‘ole seam ripper (my fellow seamstresses and tailors…you know what I’m talking about) she was there…with patience and a helping hand.

Thank you, Mom, for not only the opportunity to design and construct this garment for you, but for your presence. I love you. 💐

P A T T E R N S 🪡 P O P C O R N | Ep. 1

Some days in business don’t look like wins.

There have been moments I didn’t have all the answers—moments where things didn’t go as planned.

But, I’m learning that growth doesn’t always look glamorous. It’s the consistency when things feel uncertain.

📌 It’s my obedience to the One Who gave me the vision.

📌 It’s my obedience when I’ve been talked about.

📌 It’s my obedience when my work is scrutinized.

📌 It was my obedience when there was not support. (Even from the ones who I thought would support…or the backhanded support.)

📌 It was my obedience when I felt wrapped in self-doubt.

📌 It was my obedience when asking for help.

And because of my obedience, God has been present. Wrapping His ensuring hands around me, and letting me know to not give up.

Did I want to give up sometimes? Yes.
Did I? No.

And that is what I’m most proud of. Not just the beautiful garments…it’s that I kept going.

And I’m not going to quit.
