If you need any assistance navigating these websites or resources, we can do our best to assist you. However, we do not have personal connections/contacts with these resources. But we would be happy to call on your behalf or explore options alongside of you to suit your needs. We know it can be overwhelming. You do not have to do it alone.

Please know, we are filled with sorrow & grief over closing our pantry. We see the need in Berks County and wish we could solve the problems our community members face with immediacy. Please also know, needing help is never a moral failing. The systems in place in this country are not meant to sustain us; they are merely Band-Aids.

We believe at BMA that EVERYONE deserves a roof over their head, food in their belly, and proper medical care without fear of cost.

It is our hope that together, we can make Pennsylvania, and ultimately the United States, a better place by supporting and engaging in community. We are stronger together and we are in this together. You are not alone.

This is just a goodbye for now. Not forever. We hope to engage in other forms of Mutual Aid in the future that can benefit Berks County. Keep an eye out on this page for updates regarding our projects in the future.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we make our official announcement of closing Berks Mutual Aid Food Pantry. We have some dwindling inventory to still hand out- so we will still be accepting requests for assistance at this time.

We want those that utilize our services to understand the well is running dry. It is time to locate other services our recipients can utilize. If anyone has any resources they can send our way for Berks County that we can provide to recipients - we’d great appreciate it. We’ve already gathered some resources but we want to provide everything we possibly can.

Shutting down our Mutual Aid Food Pantry has been an incredibly difficult decision to make but, with no one willing to take the reins - we have to do it. There have been serious health concerns that have grinded a lot of our progress to a hault. We don’t WANT to shut our doors- but it’s necessary at this point in time.

We are deeply sorry to those that this will impact- however, we will do everything in our power to remain a resource to our community in anyway we can. Our email will remain open and monitored. Do not feel as if you cannot reach out- we encourage you to.

To those that donated to our cause, volunteered with us, shared our efforts with people in your community, and encouraged us: thank you. There are no words that could possibly cover the ways we are so grateful for you all enabling us to do this. It was truly NOT possible with your assistance. We hope to carry the torch in different ways after some necessary time for healing.

On Sunday, the Dungeon had some surprise visitors. We were blown away by the kindness & encouragement poured into our cups by those that have engaged in mutual aid alongside of us for the past several months.

When you engage in true, grassroots community care; you WILL meet incredible people that give you hope for the future.

One of the most beautiful things about carrying the weight of caring so deeply is meeting likeminded folk dedicated to giving back as well. We didn’t engage in mutual aid to be blessed in any way; but it gave back to us tenfold in who it brought to us.

There are no words to fully cover how grateful we are for having served alongside of such amazing people. Our hope for everyone else is that they engage in meaningful community efforts- not with the anticipation you’ll gain anything from it but that the world is a better place despite all the external forces fighting against it.

Thank you all- those who partnered with us in anyway. We are eternally grateful you all enabled us to care for our community in a way that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible on our own.

You made a difference.
