😅The other day at the doctor’s office, my son looked at the doctor and said:

“You should come to the quilt shop sometime.”

The doctor laughed and said, “Yeah, maybe I will!”

And my son immediately replied:

“Good… because we make teddy bears.” 🧸💕

Honestly, that moment melted me.

This little shop has become so much more than fabric and sewing machines to our family. My kids truly feel like they’re part of it too.

These bears are extra special because they weren’t made from clothing — I made them from cotton fabrics my kids loved.

And now every time I look at them, I’ll probably think about my son proudly advertising our teddy bears at the doctor’s office 😅

Sewing has a way of turning ordinary things into memories you can actually hold onto forever.

There is just something special happening at Legacy Quilts lately 💛

Yesterday the shop was FULL — first-time quilters, a mother/daughter duo sewing together, and even a beginner working on her first quilt through our nonprofit Keep Quilting Alive.

THIS is exactly why I opened the shop.

Not perfection.
Not experience.
Just people creating memories one stitch at a time.

Some people walked in nervous yesterday saying, “I’ve never done this before…” and by the end they were smiling, sewing, and proud of themselves.

Quilting is about so much more than fabric. It’s confidence, connection, creativity, and community. 💕

If you’ve ever wanted to learn, this is your sign. You belong here too.

💛 We are still SO incredibly grateful for all the donations being made to our nonprofit, Keep Quilting Alive, helping kids learn to sew and create something meaningful with their own two hands. 💛

Because of these amazing donations, children ages 8 and older are able to make ONE quilt per year completely FREE. 🧵✨

A huge THANK YOU to:
🪡 Brenda Marie & her friend Jody for donating over FIVE totes full of fabric, patterns, thread, rulers, and sewing supplies!

🪡 Agrivision for donating:
• 12 yards of fabric
• a sewing machine
• a kid-safe fabric cutter

🪡 Amy for donating ALL the fabric you saw listed in the garage sale this weekend! She asked us to sell what we could, and whatever doesn’t sell will also go directly to the nonprofit to help future young quilters. 💕

🪡 And Karen, who donated another sewing machine yesterday! Every machine donated helps give more kids the chance to learn and create. ❤️

This community continues to amaze me. Every donation helps preserve creativity, life skills, confidence, and the tradition of quilting for the next generation. 🧡

If you have a child age 8 or older who would love the opportunity to make one quilt a year for FREE, drop a ❤️ or comment below and I’ll send you all the details! ✂️🧵

I was so excited to host the Franklin Go-Getters for their challenge this week!🍀🧵

Watching these young people learn, create, and work toward their fair projects brought back so many wonderful memories of my own 4-H days.

4-H is so much more than ribbons and projects. It teaches leadership, communication, service, responsibility, creativity, and confidence—skills that last a lifetime.

If you have a child in 4-H who needs help getting a project ready for the fair, send them my way! I absolutely love helping kids learn new skills and bring their ideas to life.

One of the things I loved most about 4-H was the sense of community. The friendships, mentorship, service projects, and life lessons helped shape who I am today, and I love having the opportunity to give back to the next generation.

Good luck to all the 4-H members working on their projects this year—you’ve got this! 💚🍀

❤️ One of my favorite Memory Bear orders yet…

This special order included one bear for each family member, all made from a loved one’s clothing.

But look closely at the colorful bear.

That bear contains a piece of fabric from every single bear in the order. 💙

So while each family member receives a unique Memory Bear made from their own special pieces, one person will receive a bear that carries a little piece of everyone’s bear—connecting the entire family together.

I absolutely love the symbolism behind it.

Memory Bears are more than stuffed animals. They’re hugs, stories, memories, and connections that can be held onto for years to come.

If you have clothing from a loved one that you’d like transformed into a keepsake, send us a message. We’d be honored to help preserve those memories.

What a FUN day at Legacy Quilts today 🇺🇸❤️

We spent the day celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and getting ready for the 4th of July with these adorable patriotic projects!

From grandma & granddaughter memories… to friendships that started right here at the quilt shop… today was filled with creativity, laughter, encouragement, and community 🥹

One of my favorite things about quilting is that it’s so much more than fabric and thread — it’s the memories we stitch together along the way ❤️

Everyone did an AMAZING job, and I absolutely love seeing each project turn out unique and full of personality!

Thank you to this wonderful group for spending your day with us at Legacy Quilts ✂️🧵

One thing I want my children to grow up understanding is the importance of service, gratitude, and honoring those who sacrificed for others ❤️🇺🇸

Today is National Poppy Day, and my son and I will be outside the quilt shop handing out poppies in honor of veterans, active military, and military families.

This year, I joined the American Legion Auxiliary thanks to my Grandpa’s military service. While I was not in the military myself, I feel incredibly grateful for the men and women who served our country and the families who stood beside them.

Poppies are given in exchange for donations of any amount — whether that’s 20 cents, $20, or simply taking a moment to remember someone who served ❤️

Stop by, grab a poppy, and help us honor the heroes who gave so much for our freedom.
