Both of these women had a unique style sense and had a love of dressing on the darker side, but with class. I wish I could wear some of these timeless pieces, but unfortunately I am not a petite woman like they were. My grandmother was only 5'2" tall, with a large bust, with a modern waist size of approximately size 2. My beautiful mother was only 5'4" tall, also wearing sizes ranging from 3 to 5
modern sizing. Some of my grandmother's dresses may have been hand made during the 50's to 70's. She was a very talented seamstress, but only making clothing for herself and I suspect also maybe for my mother, when she was younger. My grandfather was the Engineer who assisted in the design of the Street Sweeper the City's still use to clean the streets. My grandmother loved to spend his money on beautiful clothing among other things. As you can imagine it is hard for me to have to part with my families heirlooms, but I wouldrather someone get use and enjoyment out of these beautiful timeless pieces, instead of them rotting away in a box in storage. I have kept them in a dust proof box in my airconditioned house closet. My mother was also an antique collector for her own enjoyment. She had a passion for the Victorian Era. I have a few antique pieces still bearing the tag from when she purchased them from antique stores in areas of Arcadia to Covina.
