For the past several months, I've really been struggling with my business—and I know I'm not alone. So many small businesses are facing the same challenges right now. I've watched friends close their doors, sell off inventory, and move on, and for a while I truly thought that was going to be my story too.
If you've noticed all of the destash and wholesale posts lately, that's why. I make every single one of my products myself (yes... I may have a slight obsession with creating 😅), and I had accumulated more inventory than I knew what to do with.
But something unexpected happened.
Over the past week, I've had the opportunity to work with so many amazing small businesses across the country. I've even made a few new friends along the way. What has meant the most to me is the number of people who have reached out asking when I'll be making more products because they genuinely love what I create 🥹
After feeling discouraged for so long because my local community just wasn't connecting with my products anymore, it has been incredibly encouraging to realize that people all over the country are excited about them. That support has given me hope again and reminded me why I started creating in the first place.
Because of that, I've made a decision.
I'm not leaving the boutique world after all—I'm just changing the way I do business.
Moving forward, the primary focus of my business will be wholesale. This will allow me to continue creating the products I love without the pressure of constantly keeping a retail inventory stocked. I'll be able to create at my own pace, build up inventory, and then offer it to boutiques across the country.
Don't worry—you'll still be able to find me locally! I'll continue to have a space inside Belles & Beauxs, and my furniture pieces will still be available at Gray Leopard.
Thank you to every single person who has supported me, encouraged me, shared my work, or believed in me during this season. You have no idea how much your kindness has meant. Here's to a new chapter, and one I'm genuinely excited about 🖤
