D23 is this week and I have a few thoughts.

Every two years Disney gets on stage and tells us what the parks are going to look like for the next decade. Some of it happens. Some of it quietly disappears (pour one out for the Mary Poppins ride). So here are my top 3 predictions for the parks panel, plus a bonus pick I feel weirdly confident about.

Villains Land and Piston Peak get real. We've had concept art since 2024. This is the year we get actual ride systems, names, and maybe an opening timeline for Magic Kingdom's biggest expansion ever. This one feels like a lock.

Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom gets announced for a full reimagining. New track, new vehicles, and a closure date that's going to make grown adults emotional. It hasn't had a real refurb in almost 20 years. It's time, and my back agrees.

Journey Into Imagination finally gets its overhaul. They put Neil Patrick Harris, a certified Figment superfan, on stage to host the panel. That's not an accident. If Figment and Dreamfinder get a new ride announcement, the roof is coming off that arena.

Bonus pick: Avatar at Disney California Adventure quietly gets shelved. Monsters Inc was supposed to close for it and now it's staying open into 2027. Read between the lines.
