A dress is never just fabric. Sometimes it’s a piece of your history 🙂
I had the pleasure of interviewing longtime museum supporter Ellen Prague at the Orlando Museum of Art’s *Runway in Bloom*, hosted by the Council of 101 and part of last month’s *Art in Bloom*. She shared with me the story of loaning the dress to Maxine, and it’s a beautiful example of how community can be created around shared interests—like the intricate details of textiles.
Having owned boutiques for 20 years, I’ve loved selecting and cheating collections for my stores each year. As I had more access to designers and could purchase more strategically, I choose to work with designers who loved to focus on the tiny details like a frayed edge, a unique button or a little bit of sweet embroidery hidden somewhere special.
Ellen and I share a love for textiles & these pieces of unique fashion history. ❤️
