Spent the afternoon trying out a new quilting technique, after getting the boss’s approval for the back side fabric, of course! The front squares are made from a new fabric and from a quilt my talented MIL made for me 13 years ago! I couldn’t bare to part with it, but it was well loved and well worn, so I cut out squares, added the new fabric and now it will be loved and used for another 13 years at least!

What happens to all of the scrap fabric pieces, projects gone wrong, and leftovers that aren’t large enough for certain items? I hoard them until I have enough, then I make pet toys! Ropes and stuffed toys with squeakers, chimes and rattles. Taking them to our local pet store to be donated to our local animal shelters.

Temperature blanket to date. You can tell by all the gray that we spend a lot of with temperatures between 44-53 degrees. We’ve had a surprising amount of sun so far this year, that’s all the pale yellow.
