This is where it all happens... You sit in the big comfy chair, lights and lenses flash and flip all around and TA DA - it's as easy as 1 or 2!

Bifocals, readers, and progressive lenses are great but if you're over, say, 42 years old and looking for flexible vision distance and near without having to wear glasses, you have options!

Multifocal contacts have been around for years and just keep getting better! They are available for one time wear, great for occasional use for sports or special events, and can also correct astigmatism. 

Prescription eye drops for near vision improvement are available now as well! They work by shrinking the pupil size enough to improve depth of focus without needing a corrective lens. There's a few different options out there at this point. Vizz is my preferred so far for patients interested in going this route, for both efficiency of action and minimizing possible side effects.

🌞Now that the sun is shining and being outside is fun again, I've switched back to wearing my photochromic lenses full time... The kind that are clear indoors, and darken outside!

The most common and well known brand is , and that's what I'm demoing here with their super dark XTRActive and color versions. These are not the Transitions of yesteryear - they darken quickly and effectively and return to clear within moments indoors. They filter blue light for indoors on computers. The XTRActive will even change inside your car, and can have polarization added as well.

I honestly don't know why I waited so long to try these, bit now that I have them they're a summer essential for me. Do you have lenses that darken outdoors?

Main St vibes ✨

Truth be told I never imagined myself as a private practice owner or business person. But nothing else has allowed me to practice to the best of my ability, offer the kind of direct, careful and thoughtful care I want to for every patient, reflect my values so perfectly and give me the flexibility I need to be present as a mom of small kids. I might not have planned this a decade ago but I'm grateful to be here now... And practicing optometry in the same community that I live in has been so rewarding, getting to see patients at T-ball, grocery store and coffee shop is the best!

Any other accidental entrepreneurs out there?
