Kansas City photo stylist, Debbie Dusenberry, opened her first boutique, Curious Sofa in the Crossroads district of Kansas City from 2000-2004. In 2005 she moved across state line to the Prairie Village Shopping Center. The shop specialized in vintage items, neutral slipcovered furniture, and decorative objects. With a love for curating products and an unorthodox way of display, Debbie led Curious

Sofa to become one of the nation's top independent boutiques and a destination shop for customers across the country. For ten successful years, both Curious Sofa and Debbie's home were featured in many national, trade and local publications which led to a strong following on the shop's website, blog and page... and now Instagram. In 2011, Debbie closed her store to focus on online sales through the Curious Sofa website and selling around Kansas City in various venues. In 2020 Curious Sofa moved into the Glenwood Antique Mall in Overland Park, KS and is only selling there and at curioussofa.com

It seemed perfect for fall…

This late Victorian/Jacobean Cabinet was the final find for my fall makeover. I have not always been a fan of stained wood but a good piece is a good piece and as weather gets cooler, warmer furniture seemed right. This has so many uses; bookcase, china cabinet, linen storage, fancy pantry. No glass in this beauty but a sheer fabric panel might be a quick alternative. Come and see at Glenwood Antique Mall

I've been m.i.a. for awhile as I have been knee deep in hunting and gathering for Fall & Christmas!!! (yikes)
It is 98° outside but that its not stopping me from getting in the fourth quarter retail groove that I love so much!
Just a few final touches to do over the next few days but it is slowly coming together. Pics to come soon.
Meanwhile, a few good Summer items are on sale and ready to move out. Furniture, clothing, & decor.

Happy summer, friends!
I spent yesterday adding a cart full of new goodies to the booth, getting ready for what should be a fun and busy weekend.

With World Cup visitors filling the city and Kansas City buzzing with excitement, it's a great time to get out and explore!
