AI’s greatest impact on construction will come from more than new tools. It will depend on the quality of the data behind them and the culture required to put insights into action.
At Ai4 2026 in Las Vegas, Clayco Chief Information Officer Jeff Miller joined Amit Sinha of TRC Companies, Patrick Murphy of Coastal Construction, and Shane Snider of Data Center Knowledge to discuss AI across the construction lifecycle.
The conversation highlighted practical applications already creating value: optimizing design decisions, forecasting material shortages, and identifying potential incident risks earlier to help build safer jobsites. Just as important, the panel addressed the industry-wide work still ahead: establishing consistent data standards and earning adoption in a sector where careful risk management is essential.
For Clayco, the path forward is clear: AI should strengthen the expertise of project teams, improve decision-making, and help us solve our clients’ toughest problems with greater certainty from blueprint to build.
