If you are in the DMV area and have gently warm or new shoes that you don’t want please let me know. Especially men’s and boys shoes. I will pick them up or we can meet.

WHAT: LOTUS 50+ DMV (DC/MD/VA) has partnered w/ Funds2Orgs to host their Spring 2024 SHOE DRIVE Fundraiser!
WHEN: March 1 – May 10, 2024
WHY: LOTUS 50+ is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser to raise funds to assist those in need domestically and abroad.
HOW: LOTUS 50+ will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, and Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will benefit Lotus’s 50+ Special Projects. Everyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes.
ADDITIONAL INFO: All donated shoes will be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe, and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send to her son to law school.

•Drop off your donations at the designated DROP-OFF LOCATIONS
DROP-OFF LOCATIONS: Once you have collected your 25 pairs of shoes email Talaine Buckmon @ [email protected] or drop them off at the locations below:
• St. Charles Towne Center Mall – “The Square”, 11110 Mall Circle, Waldorf Maryland 20603 located on top level inside the mall Mon. – Sun., 12noon to 7pm.
• Children’s Aid Society – 3000 Huntington Circle, Waldorf MD 20602 Mon. & Fri., 10am to 2pm and Wed., 10am to 3pm.
By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to the LOTUS 50+ DMV SHOE DRIVE the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives here and around the world. Every pair counts! Let’s step towards the goal of 2,500 shoes together!
