Tomorrow, our private candle collection officially hits the shelves at Howdy Co.
Each scent tells a story, holds a memory, and captures the spirit of who we are.
“1813” is a tribute to our roots. In 1813, Jane Gould was born in Altus. That was the beginning of a bloodline that would spend eight generations helping shape these valleys, riverbanks, and communities that our family still calls home today.
“Cattle Baron” is inspired by one of the men who raised me. Around us, he’s known simply as Papaw, but anyone who knows hard work, integrity, and grit would understand why he’s earned the title Cattle Baron. He is gentle, funny, loving, and the hardest working man I’ve ever known. But like every great man, he’s never done it alone; not without Granny, Mrs. Cattle Baron, by his side.
“Rodeo Queen” is inspired by my mom. She was the first Rodeo Queen Coal Hill had ever seen. It’s a title that still makes me incredibly proud. If she was even half as talented in the arena as she is at being a mother, or a Hootenanny, then she was absolutely unstoppable.
This collection is more than candles to us. It’s family. It’s legacy. It’s home.
