Creatures of Habit graciously welcomed Amanda Gray, Coty Ellis and their engaging sons, Theo and Tony as they ventured on a family “field trip” today. Tony, an aspiring naturalist (someone who studies the natural world through direct observation) and Theo, a budding osteologist (a scientific term for someone who studies bones) explored our vast inventory of unique and unusual artifacts available for purchase. Their visit gave us the opportunity to share many of the delightful and very unique exotic oddities of the natural and supernatural world embedded among our 17,000 costumes. Note: Creatures of Habit is recognized as the official scavenger hunt mecca of the United States. Tony imparted some of his extensive natural history knowledge by identifying the name, species and origin of our 1939 pair of Cane toad shoes from South America. Fortunately, the poison glands had been removed years ago when the shoes were fashioned. Theo espied a hand held skeletal masquerade mask and, as you can see in this photo, enjoyed his Creatures of Habit tour with his newly acquired costume accessory in hand and on face.
