Nearly 19,000 works. Over 1,500 manuscripts. The second-largest collection of illuminated manuscripts in all of France.
The Reading Room at Château de Chantilly was built for one of history's great bibliomaniacs - the Duke of Aumale - and it shows. Among its treasures sits the Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, a 15th-century illuminated masterpiece so fragile it can no longer be displayed. The original is kept under lock and key. The world gets a digital copy.
Some books are too precious to touch. Others are waiting to find the right hands. At Raptis Rare Books, we specialize in the latter.
It's not just collecting - it's owning a piece of history that can actually be yours.
