Nobody handed me a manual for the first 12 weeks postpartum. So here’s the one I wish I had.

The fourth trimester is real. Your body is healing. Your hormones are everywhere. You might cry at a diaper commercial and then laugh about it five minutes later. All of that is normal.

A few things that actually helped:
-Getting dressed, even if it’s the bare minimum
-Wearing something that fits your body right now, not the body you’re trying to get back to
-Letting go of the idea that there’s a “back” to bounce to

You’re not the same person you were before. You’re a mom now. That’s not a loss. It’s just something completely new.
