Where I’ve found fun lately: Vasquez Rocks.

Incredible rock formations rich with history of all kinds that are simply fun as ever to scramble on, admire & sit in awe of.

After the first time I ever went here I dug into the history which goes from Native American tribes, the notorious bandito Tiburcio Vásquez, commercials, & even the boy band .bighitofficial filming a music video here 😂. What a place.

Bucket list Mtb destination: Crested Butte Colorado. Few places have such an unusual amount of hype around them for riding. But now we got to see first hand why Crested Butte does. And yep... It lived up to all that hype & then some.

Use the Google machine, plan a trip, ride, smile, have fun & get comfortable with the fact you'll probably want to go every summer for the rest of your life.

A Way To Have Fun: Eastern Sierras Backpacking

An excellent alternative to the close by, extremely busy Yosemite National Park, is the Hoover Wilderness. My wife, Judah (our dog), and I covered 25 miles in the Hoover Wilderness where we spent two nights stargazing, swimming in dozens of high alpine lakes, reading books, & soaking up the sun.

Finding solitude may sound like a strange way to describe having fun, but it’s only in solitude that I feel like I can reset to keep rocking. That’s why we headed to the unofficial backcountry capital of the Eastern Sierra Mountains, Bridgeport California for a 3 day backpacking trip. Bridgeport is a small town that lies at the base of the Sawtooth Range, which offers year round adventures from backcountry skiing & dogsledding, to big mountain climbing & boating. To get to this gem you must be committed as it’s a ~5 hour drive from both the Bay Area, CA & Los Angeles, CA.

A Place to Have Fun: Santa Cruz, California.

Famous for having the oldest running amusement park in the country, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk & Pier, as well as the rare Banana Slug & huge sky scraping Redwood trees that nestle up to sea cliffs, Santa Cruz is simply epic. While most on their trip to Santa Cruz find themselves at the famous Mystery Spot, the only thing on our mind was riding mountain bikes in the Redwood Forests where there is amazing dirt & a vast network of steep intertwining trails.

With just a 2 day trip we enjoyed hours of perfect tacky dirt, adrenaline that lasted for days, and of course plenty of laughs. We concluded that the pizza we had from was some of the best we have ever had. Although not to overshadow the phenomenal coffee from which gave us black gold rushing into the veins. We didn't want the fun to stop, but luckily for us it just means another trip will soon be had & the fun won't stop anytime soon!

We could give you some BS run-around & tell you we designed the last pair of pants you'll ever need. Or use outrageously overplayed terms like "All day everyday everywhere pants"... But I'll just tell you a story instead…
Many moons ago we went on a mission to create an incredibly versatile travel pant that could fit into as many scenarios as possible. A pant that looked modern & minimal yet was packed with thoughtful features & was as comfy as it gets. Here is what we made sure to nail…
Stretchy everything, including the waist band. Comfort + movability 👌🏼.
Soft breathable fabric that repels liquid so if you get too frisky shaking your w***y to get those last few drops out, they won't soak in.
Front right pocket has a hidden zipper so you aren't that guy who's phone falls on the airplane floor.
Back right zipper pocket + button closure back left pocket. So you can do backflips & not worry about your wallet going to outer space.
Crotch gusset to prevent those family jewels from being squished to smithereens.
We named these pants the Tomfoolery Pant because that's what life & travel should be full of. Go have fun, in high quality comfortable pants 😎.

A Place To Have Fun: Downieville, California. If you have been picking your nose for gold & keep coming up short… Head to Downieville. During the gold rush of the 1800s, Downieville was known for its vast mountains filled with gold, so much so, “It vied to become the new state capital of California.” Today, it still remains a gold mine, but a gold mine of adventurers seeking wild downhill mountain bike rides, dirt biking, fishing & hiking. And best yet, Downieville is a just short two hour drive from Sacramento, CA or Reno, NV. Have you been?
This summer we spent several weekends in the charming mining town mountain biking the Classic Downhill course, camping alongside the North Yuba river & climbing the Sierra Butte Peaks.
I may not have found gold in my nose, or in Downieville, but the place truly is a gold mine for those in search of world class fun!

A Place To Have Fun: Moab Utah. About a 4 hour drive from Salt Lake City, Moab is a world renowned mountain bike destination that was once called the "Uranium Capital of the World" in the 1950’s. But in the last decade or so it has become an outdoor mecca with seemingly endless rock climbing, 4x4'ing, hiking, road cycling, rafting & of course mountain biking.
We recently spent 4 days there riding most of the famous MTB trails, swimming in creeks & eating at the famous restaurants. I can say two things; the scenery is unreal which makes you feel like you are in dinosaur times & if you like riding rocks, this is the place. The nearby Arches & Canyonlands national parks draw most of the crowds but the mountain bike trail network is massive & full of endless rocky rocks piled on top of rock.
I now know why this place has the reputation it does. There is no shortage of fun to be had in Moab. Google it, plan it out and go have fun!

From the outside when you see a small brand like us post a sock you might be inclined to skip on by and think blah blah. Understandable. But for us & I'm sure many other brands, the product creation process is something you pour hours & hours of thought & effort into. We did that with these socks. It was the first product we created with KETL under our ownership. We put a ton of thought into these and making them an exceptional pair of socks. Although they'll get lost in the endless sea of other great socks. They still matter to us & I hope they matter to some others who enjoy their comfort & thoughtful design. Yeah they're just socks, but they are more than that to us. They're something we created over months. I'm unsure how to express the meaning of that but maybe some of you will understand 😊. Go have fun.
