We were spared, this go ‘round. But, our neighbors in AL, MS, and LA have been taking a beating, by Hurricane Ida, today. We know how it feels. We know how much it takes and what needs to be done. It’s time, for us, to step up and take care of our neighboring states. My friend, and LA native, Damien M. Callais, who is one of the original founders of the Cajun Navy, will be taking necessities and supplies over, later this week. If you would like to contribute, by donating supplies, funds, or gift cards, please let me know. I will be collecting and delivering to him, prior to his departure. Hope everyone is doing well! 🙏🏽❤️ Although I don’t post very often, “Soul to Sole” is still active helping others, just mostly, behind the scenes.

This Christmas, we decided to sponsor the Maison Rose Orphanage, in Haiti, where some friends of mine do mission work, providing medical care for them throughout the year. So, this is a familiar organization. The precious children have been in desperate need of shoes, for school, and we knew we could be of service. I reached out to family and a few colleagues, who came through for us. Then, at Maycee Rhea’s birthday party, her friends brought shoes, supplies, and gifts and put them under the tree (pics). They were amazing and brought an abundance of items! It’s always so touching to see teenagers excited about helping others! The rest of the requested items, we went and picked up. Pictured are some of the goodies we had boxed up. We have three large boxes that are packed so full, I could barely get the edges held together! ❤️

That being said, we need your help, if at all possible. I know times are tough and I hate to even ask, but we need some help covering the cost to ship the items. I would love to get them there as close to Christmas, as possible. The cost to ship all three boxes is, approximately, $335. If you can do $5, $10, whatever you can, we would greatly appreciate it and so would the kids and crew at Maison Rose. I’m not setting up a Go Fund Me, or a FB account, as they withhold a percentage and hold the funds for at least a week and we are under a time restraint. I have numerous forms of payment available. Just PM me.

They covet our prayers and have been sending me the sweetest messages of prayers, knowing they are the ones in need. It’s such a blessing to be the hands and feet of Christ and we are grateful for this opportunity. 🙏🏽❤️🌟🎄

Good evening, everyone!!

Sorry, it's been several days since I've posted. Since I live in Florida, Irma kind of threw things off a bit, for us. We were very blessed, in the NW Panhandle, to be spared from the wrath of that horrific storm. But, unfortunately, many of our fellow Floridians lost everything, or close to it.

That being said, now our mission has become even larger! We will still be sending supplies to Texas, but we will also be sending supplies to Central and South Florida, and The Keys! I will be sharing posts and pics, from many of my friends, who were affected by Irma. It's heart wrenching.

In 15 days, the US suffered two major devastating storms, including one of the strongest hurricanes, on record, while our neighbors, in Mexico, experienced one of the worse earthquakes, in history. If there was ever a time for us to come together, for the sake of humanity, it is now. "Soul to Sole" donations will not be limited to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. We will be expanding our territory to help as many as we can...but we need your help. We have had numerous people donate socks and shoes, at our local drop offs and I am so grateful to each and every person for your compassion and generosity. I am looking for people who feel led to step up and take donations for us, in your communities! I will work with you, personally, to get the gifts to our main hub or to partners, in your areas across the states. Just contact me and let me know how you would like to help.

Thank you, for being part of this mission, to make a difference. It is our responsibility to be the hands and feet of Christ...to spread love to our brothers and sisters...helping them rebuild, not only their communities, but their lives.

As I lie here in bed, tonight, thinking of the horrific devastation Hurricane Harvey has caused, to Texas...my heart breaks. The fact so many families have lost all of their belongings, their homes, their pets and some, even, their loved ones, is a tragedy I can't begin to fathom.

So, I asked, "How can I be of service?", and, I waited. But, the answer I received wasn't what I was anticipating. I had been trying to think of something my kids, their friends, and other school kids, could do, to make a difference in all of this madness. How could they feel like they are a part of a solution and learn the importance of humanity and giving? And, this is what was laid on my heart..."Soul to Sole"...A shoe drive for kids from kids.

My friend and I were talking about supplies they needed, and when he said "shoes", my heart sank. The children in Texas have, only, the shoes on their little feet and they are dirty and wet, at best. I am asking you to donate new or clean like new condition shoes, to be delivered to those displaced children. We will also need socks. But, it doesn't stop there. Along with the shoes (ANY sizes), please have your child draw a picture, write an encouraging note, and even include a picture of themselves, if they would like, so the children of Texas will know they are loved and there is HOPE!!
