The software provides entire libraries of current fabrics, or you can import photos of specific fabrics. You can start from an existing quilt template or build one from scratch. Choose from thousands of included quilt blocks, or draw your own. This software is limited only by the time you invest in learning to use it, but basic functionality is powerful and easy to learn.
Electric Quilt has a long history and few changes, so there is a wealth of information online about how to use it, as well as built-in tutorials and additional manuals available for purchase to help you with the granular functionality.
With EQ8, you can print estimated yardage needed, color mockups and even rotary cutting instructions for every patch in your quilt. I have used it in countless ways over the years and I can confidently say it has been some of the best money I have ever spent on quilting. (And that is saying something.)
