A New Chapter

Okay folks- the good news! We got a LOT sorted today. It's starting to look a bit like a shop.

The icky news? Nothing has been properly shelved yet. We've got all but a handful of boxes sorted so far, but haven't gotten to the point where any of our sections can be properly alphabetized- they're all just in lil' piles all over the floor.

The worse news- it's only about 8pm and I am *exhausted* and cannot do more, much as I'd love to go until midnight and get all the things done. I've been up since 8am, and moving stuff around almost the entire time- my back is screaming, my shoulders started cussing six hours ago, and my feet are contemplating forming a union.

SO. We'll be open tomorrow. Things will be messy (we hate messy, but we can't afford to be closed). We're gonna be working on getting stuff sorted still, and figuring out what goes where, and making phone calls we need to make to do other important things. But we welcome you to stop in, see the space, (maybe drop off some shelving if you have any lurking around??) and see if you can spot something you might want lurking in the piles. xD

We did just get our shipment of Punchkins (the book themed stuffies) in, so there will be a bunch more to photograph in the morning!

Now I'm gonna go see if I can figure out how to crack my spine like a glowstick. Ta!

Alright, we've got most everything taken care of. Just have to call about an inspection and we're good!

Organizing Shelves will start at 12pm today and go until I get enough back on the sales floor to be satisfied!

With the help of an AMAZING crew, we got everything moved and the old place cleaned out in under the time I'd guessed we'd need! Now to just get everything put back to rights at the new place! XD

Our last two days open at the 109 East Wood Street location are gonna be fun, because I have a ton of stuff to pack and not enough boxes to do it with. xD

SO! To fix that, we'll be running a MOVING SALE.

ALL Non-Fiction: 25 Cents each. I have a ton of them, and I have a feeling we won't be able to get it all out until we get more shelving built for the new place, so come grab it while you can!

Fiction Paperbacks: $1.00 Each, any size.

Fiction Hardbacks: $2.00 Each, any size.

Kids Books- 25 Cents Each.

We will be open from 10am-5pm on Friday the 28th; 10am-9pm on Saturday the 29th.

Sunday the 30th will be MOVING DAY. Goal will be to get the whole shop moved out and into our new place between the hours of 10am and 4pm.

Monday the 31st is gonna be.... weird. We have errands to run in the morning to get new address paperwork done with the city, internet moved to the new shop address, and meeting with our former landlord to review the unit and return the keys. If you have items to drop off, or are wanting to help us get reorganized, please call before stopping by so you can make sure we're actually there!

Welp, we were hoping for service to be restored sooner than later, but a new update just killed that plan. >:|

Closing early again today so that we can at least get SOME form of work done with our POS out of commission. We'll be painting the window at the new place instead- honk if you see us!

We have been ABSOLUTELY stone dead today. Not one visitor. SO. In the interest of getting some stuff done while we can, we're gonna close a smidge early and go handle business elsewhere.

We'll be open again at 10am tomorrow!

First stage of moving is complete, with a GREAT many thanks to those who helped- you lovely people know who you are!!

Reminder that we will be open for normal business hours Tuesday through Saturday, and for some EXTRA time on Saturday evening while we enjoy one final NSFW Game Night in the spot that started it all.

Final packing efforts are slated for Sunday the 30th, between 10am and 4pm. If we can get it all moved in that time, I shall be a very happy lil' Bookwyrm!

Alright folks, new information just dropped and we need this week to be a damn good one.

We still need $180 to meet the first month's rent at the new location- easy to do, we do it every week and were expecting it to be a non-issue.

BUT. The current landlord has just made us aware that, despite not having a lease (we pay month to month), in the state of TN we still have to give 30 days notice that we intend to vacate. We were not aware of this being a thing, as it's never come up anywhere else we've rented. Our bad, I guess.

In the interest of avoiding legal madness and dealing with this anymore than necessary, we need to find an additional $600 this week to cover the surprise fees for our own ignorance.

We will be open from 10am-5pm Tuesday through Friday. Saturday we will be open from 10am-9pm. Our sales floor will remain precisely as it always is until after we have closed on Saturday- no early packing for that part of the building!! We are also continuing our Gift Card bonus- an extra $5 on your card for every $20 placed on it!!

Y'all, I'm tired, and I hate surprises.

Edit @6:45pm: A very lovely individual has been an absolutely amazing person and blessed us with the unexpected funds. We are feeling very warm and fuzzy about it all, and will be doing what we can to spoil them absolutely rotten whether they like it or not in the future.

Do come visit though- it's your last chance to shop in the old spot!

Confirmation acquired! Moving shenanigans begin TOMORROW! Before you panic though- we will still be open for the rest of this week with a full sales floor waiting! The more you buy, the less I have to move!

Plans are as follows:

Monday the 24th : Moving Back Of House in the evening so we can avoid traffic and the parking area being full of people! We shouldn't need a ton of people for this portion- a truck or two and some strong backs will be enough (or leave the heavy lifting to me and just drive, that works too)!

Sunday the 30th -4pm: This will be The BIG Move. I will arrive at 10am and start packing things up; show up anytime after that to help- bring boxes if you can! Everything must be packed and gone so I can clean the place top to bottom! I will have someone trusted watching the shop and directing packing so that after the first load is ready, I can move to the new building and direct where things need to go. If I can have it empty by 4pm, I can run my Sunday DnD group in the new place and celebrate!

Monday the 31st -??: Setting back up! I will spend my day reorganizing the shelves and getting things put back in order. Anyone who can alphabetize is welcome to come help sort and make things go faster! Anyone wanting to donate shelving, rugs, etc, can visit after 10am on this day to drop things off.

The pictured stack of boxes is NOT all that will be moving. It's only about a 3rd of tomorrow's lot...

Volunteers will be given Gift Cards with an amount dependant upon time worked. If we can afford it, there may be Pizza involved as well!
