We are SO excited to announce that Kat & Kae’s Stitchery will be set up at the 2026 Covered Bridge Festival in Parke County, Indiana! 🎉

And even more exciting… we’ll be popped up at The Clay Plant in Bloomingdale, Indiana — MY HOMETOWN! ❤️

There is something incredibly special about getting to bring the little business we’ve built back home and set up a show just a couple miles down the road from my parents’ house. It’s a full-circle moment I don’t think I’ll ever stop being grateful for. 🥹

We’re looking forward to seeing old friends, familiar faces, and meeting plenty of new ones along the way. Most of all, we can’t wait to share all the things we’ve been creating and help our handmade pieces find their perfect new homes. 🧵❤️

✨ TWO WEEKS OUT! ✨

We are officially just two weeks away from departure day for the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival in Parke County, Indiana, and I’m getting SO excited! 🥹💕

Today’s project? Another little batch of tote bags made from old feed bags! 👜🌾

These are a special Bridge Fest-only product, and I can’t wait to bring them along and share them with you. There’s just something extra special about taking something that might have otherwise been tossed aside and giving it a whole new life. ♻️🧵

The sewing room is busy, the piles are growing, and Bridge Fest prep is officially in full swing!

I can’t wait to see these bags find their new homes in just a couple of weeks. ❤️

Four hours in my little office today, and somehow I never even made it to my sewing machine. 🤎

But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t plenty of work happening.

There was cutting… and ironing… and cutting again. Pinning, clipping, sandwiching, sorting, stacking, and getting everything lined up and ready for tomorrow.

Bowl cozies, bookmarks, and keychains are all waiting patiently for their turn under the needle. 🧵

Tomorrow, I get to sit down and start sewing everything together in batches, but today was about all the little steps that come before that.

There’s something I really love about this part of preparing for a show. The quiet work. The piles of fabric slowly becoming something. Knowing that each little piece will eventually make its way into someone’s home.

Covered Bridge prep is officially underway, and my office is looking a little more chaotic tonight—but my heart is pretty happy. ❤️

Some people come into your life and are the people who help you find yourself again. ❤️

Today, I want to thank my best friend, Meg.

The sewing master who still leaves me completely in awe with every single project she creates. Seriously, watching you sew is like watching magic happen, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop being amazed by what you can do. 🧵❤️

But you have given me so much more than sewing inspiration.

You have been my biggest hype girl. The person who looked at me and reminded me that I was capable of being just as amazing as the people I admired. You helped me believe in myself when I wasn’t sure I had anything worth believing in.

You helped me build confidence. Pride. Self-respect.

And maybe most importantly, you showed me that being more than “Mom” is not only okay… it’s necessary.

You reminded me that I am allowed to have dreams. I’m allowed to create. I’m allowed to build something that belongs to me. I’m allowed to be passionate about something outside of my family and still be an amazing mom.

You never made me feel guilty for wanting more. Instead, you encouraged me to chase it.

SewKae wouldn’t be the same without the lessons, encouragement, and confidence you’ve poured into me. But honestly, I wouldn’t be the same without you.

Thank you for seeing something in me before I could see it in myself. Thank you for cheering the loudest, believing the hardest, and reminding me over and over again that I belong here.

You didn’t just teach me how to sew better.

You helped teach me how to believe in me. ❤️

I love you more than you know, Meg. And I’ll forever be grateful that life gave me a best friend who also happens to be one hell of a sewing master. 🧵😂❤️

Behind every small business mom is a group of kids who are along for the ride—and mine deserve a HUGE thank you. ❤️

To my kids, and to my niece and nephew: you guys are superheroes. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

You get the ugly side of Aunt Kathryn & I owning a small business. You get the long hours during show weekends. The late nights. The overnights away from us. The hours spent trying to stay entertained while we are busy talking to customers, setting up, tearing down, and doing all the things.

And yes… there are meltdowns. There are tantrums. There are moments when everyone is tired, overstimulated, and just DONE. 😂 But somehow, when the next weekend rolls around, you’re always ready to load up and do it all over again.

And then there’s the other side of it.

You get carnival rides. 🎡
Bounce houses.
Hot air balloons. 🎈
Face paint. 🎨
Sleepovers.
New places.
New friends.
Adventures we probably wouldn’t have experienced otherwise.

You get to see us build something from the ground up. You get to watch the behind-the-scenes chaos, the victories, the hard days, and the moments when everything comes together.

And somewhere in between the long days and sleeplessness, we’re creating core memories.

Someday, I hope you look back on these crazy show weekends and remember more than the waiting around or the tired nights. I hope you remember the adventures, the laughter, the carnival rides, the balloons in the sky, the sleepovers, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourselves.

Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for coming along for the ride. Thank you for putting up with the crazy.

You may not realize it yet, but you are a HUGE part of SewKae. ❤️

And I promise, every long day, every chaotic weekend, and every exhausted meltdown is worth it for the memories we’re making together.

There are some people who cheer you on from the sidelines, and then there are the people who are right there in the trenches with you. ❤️

Today, I want to thank my mom.

Thank you for being the person I can call with a million questions. For patiently teaching me the tips and tricks, helping me navigate Etsy, and giving me the advice I need to keep pushing SewKae forward.

Thank you for helping with my babies when we take on bigger vendor shows, making those opportunities possible when they might otherwise feel out of reach. Thank you for always offering us a place to stay when a show brings us closer to home, making those long weekends a little easier and a whole lot more special.

But more than anything, thank you for believing in me. For investing your time, energy, knowledge, and love into something that started as a little dream and continues to grow into something I’m incredibly proud of.

I truly could not do all of this without my village, and Mom, you are one of the biggest pieces of it. ❤️

I hope you know how much I appreciate you—not just for everything you do for SewKae, but for everything you do for me.

To all of the incredible vendors we’ve met along the way… this one is for you. 🤍

One of the biggest surprises of building Sew Kae has been discovering just how special the vendor community really is.

You’ve shared advice when we needed it. You’ve answered questions, offered encouragement, helped us troubleshoot, watched booths, lent a hand, and supported us through the chaos that comes with show weekends.

And somehow, in the middle of all the setup, teardown, long days, unpredictable weather, slow moments, busy crowds, and everything in between… we’ve made friendships.

Because the truth is, we’re all in this together. Through and through.

We may technically be competing for customers, but it rarely feels that way. We celebrate each other’s wins. We send customers to one another. We share what we’ve learned. We help when someone needs an extra set of hands. And we understand the crazy in a way that only another vendor can. 😂

These events have given us so much more than sales. They’ve given us connections, stories, friendships, and opportunities to experience things we probably never would have otherwise.

So to every vendor who has crossed paths with Sew Kae and Mama Kat’s Crochet:

Thank you. For your advice. Your kindness. Your support. Your friendship. And for being part of this wild little journey with us.

Here’s to many more shows, many more memories, and many more friendships made somewhere between the tents, tables, boxes, and chaos. 🤍
