These gifts are currently on their way to Australia!

First up is a sunglasses holder, or "sunnies" in Australian slang. A little padding and a little American patriotic spirit and you have the perfect protection!

The second set of gifts are hotpads! One side has Australian gumnut fabric, the other is American flag fabric. The receiver can decide which side she wants facing up depending on the day which makes them fun versatile pieces!

This bag’s story is different.

It started as a “rescue quilt,” a term I’ve dubbed for when I find a handmade quilt that deserves a new home. It wasn’t very big, but I knew I wanted to make it into something someday. I had considered doing a jacket, or embellishing some other garment. I wanted it to be used, just as the original maker had intended.

Then came Jane’s Creations II bag class. This quilt was the perfect size to cut out all of the outside pieces. The rest of the fabric and vinyl came from my stash, and the only items purchased new were the straps and hardware. I had a vision, but I couldn’t have predicted how it turned out. I LOVE how the colors and fabrics came together.

So to the original owner of this quilt, I hope I did it justice and if you were to see this bag you’d love as much as I do. Thank you Jane for a wonderful couple of days and Circle F Farmhouse LLC for hosting!

I love turning old memories into new ones! This quilt top was brought to me in very good shape, and I made three envelope pillow cases for my client and her family members. They now get to treasure a unique piece of grandma forever!
