Normally, I prefer to stay behind the camera but I couldn’t help but share my excitement for this project.
Allow me to introduce myself for a second. My name is Angie. I am the owner, graphic designer, shipping/packaging coordinator and social media director of this shop, Miel y Manzanilla.
Where does Miel y Manzanilla come from? When hubby and I were dating, we used to call each other honey (miel) bear and chamomile (manzanilla) tea. That became the inspiration for the name to a business that I have poured so much love into.
What many of you might not know is that by day (full-time), I work as the Director of Outreach and Guided Entry Services at a community college. Education is my first love and I enjoy making connections with people and helping them start their academic journeys. (Hit me up with questions if you know someone who’s trying to go to college)
Circling back to the picture…I recently decided to go back to school. I finished my master in counseling in 2017 and became a director a couple of years ago and decided it was time to level up. In August, I started a doctoral program in Community College Policy and Administration. My cup is filled this week from finally being able to meet my cohort in person at a conference and I was honored to make these shirts for us. We looked so cute showing off our “future doctors” shirt! Loved being able to make that happen for us.
