A Rant from Broke Piggy
You know what drives me crazy?
When collectors in our toy community toss around the word GRAIL like it’s free candy. This sacred term has been watered down so much it’s barely even impressive to hear it now. Grail this, grail that. These are all my grails. Stop it! Just stop.
When collectors said, "grail," it used to mean something. It wasn’t just the prettiest toy on your shelf. Or your favorite collectible of the week. A grail was an obsession. An impossible, difficult quest that drove you to madness. When King Arthur sent out 150 of his best knights to find the Holy Grail, only three survived the quest. A grail hunt is and should be that difficult! And when you do have a chance at obtaining your grail, there’s no logic or budgeting. There’s no asking your significant other if it’s okay to purchase. There's no checking the balance on your credit cards. If you’re not seizing your grail the moment it is within your grasp, then, I hate to break it to you, but it is not your grail.
If you’re not staring every day at an empty spot on your shelf, where it tortures your soul because your life isn’t complete without that specific toy that belongs in that precise spot, then it is not your grail.
Be selective with what toy you call a grail. Because once you do, this quest will consume you. It is, and should be, a big declaration. You have now dedicated your life to finding this singular toy that will not only bring you true complete happiness, but will fill that empty void in your soul.
And when you do find your white whale and claim victory, I will be the first to tip my hat in your direction, because I know the struggle, and how rare this moment is for us collectors. It’s not a toy. It’s a grail.
Okay, so now that we have established the definition of grail, and we all know how to properly use the term, please make note that this particular toy, the Stardust Spark-ling by Artiqfox, is definitely a grail.
Not just any grail.
It is, in fact, now YOUR grail.
Best of luck in your new quest.
